It's Friday

Re: It's Friday

• Good morning.

I am trying to push myself through this day. It has been a  long week even though I have only worked 3 days. The drive home does it to me every time. I always need time to recouperate and sleep which is precisely what I am going to be doing this weekend.

The congestion in my chest is getting a bit better with all the meds I have been taking. The crappy part is that now my throat hurts and I kept the husband up last night coughing (despite taking cough medicine) so he left this morning a bit grouchy and really tired. Aww, the joys of married life

• Morning

Today was not a good one.  I went to pull out shoes for an interview and found that ALL of my good shoes have mold/mildew growing on them.  On the soles, on the leather, on the heels, everywhere.  H is now researching how to a) clean them and b) keep the mold from coming back.  I have also declared that the A/C/dehumidifier will not be turned off until he can figure out a way to keep my stuff from getting moldy (wallets and my passport are also covered).  He was worried about the $$ to run said A/C until I pointed out that the two pairs of shoes he was holding cost more than our quarterly power bill....grrr

And when I went to iron a shirt for said interview, ants came out of the steam holes in the iron.  Anyone know why ants decided to take up residence in my iron?

On a plus, my cough and congestion is finally starting to clear.  That only took 12 days :-(
Good morning! I finally feel awake. I don't know if its the weather or what but I've been exhausted this whole week. Like barely keeping my eyes open at my desk and having no energy to cook or anything when I get home. Last night I took a 30 min. nap and a shower right before bed so maybe that helped. Missy - I hope you get better soon! Is your H sick too? I never got the flu until I met him and now every year he gets it and gives it to me. I'm debating on stuffing him in a bubble this winter. I really don't want the flu again.
Posted by lovethebeach16
No, he never gets sick. I think he must have the best immune system ever. I think in the 4 yrs we have been together, he has only been sick 2x and that was only for a few days and it wasn't even that bad. I neglected to get a flu shot last year but had one the 2 years prior to that and don't know if I should get one or just say the hell with it.

I always get sick, but of course it doesn't help that I work with young kids everyday. I had taught for 2 years, had a year off between moving, the wedding, etc and now I am back in the field, so my little munchkins are partly to blame. Plus, when we went home this past weekend, MIL was sick, went to the doctor and has a upper respiratory & sinus infection, so I think I may have really gotten this crap from her. I just don't want to have to go to the doctor.
• aMrs......WOW.  What a day.  That is crazy!  Ants in an iron is a new one for me.  I once had to throw out like 6 pairs of shoes b/c they got mold on them.  I lived in an apartment building and the shower above mine was leaking into my shower......I didn't realize until the season change when I went to pull out my summer shoes that it had been leaking into my bedroom closet as well and getting the carpet wet - I was not very happy.  I hope you can find a way to clean them.

Feel better Missy Sue.
• Oh, my God, AMrs, I would lose it. Absolutely lose it.

Morning, everyone! I'm so freakin' happy it's Friday. This week has been kind of an exhausting mess, and I get a three-day weekend. It won't mean relaxing, just that I have a few days free of deadlines. But it's awesome nonetheless.

• Opal - how did your presentation thing go this week?
• Opal, lets just say he probably wished he hadn't come home from work tonight.

But don't forget all, I live in a freakin tropical paradise.  OZ is voted the #2 most wonderful place in the world to live.

And to add the cherry on top?  We have recessed lighting in the kitchen.  One of the bulbs webt out.  H went to change it.  Turns out, the bulb was just fine.  The thing living in our freakin roof unplugged it!  No, we don;t have those little insulated junction boxes to prevnt fires because we have no insulation.  I swear this house would never pass an occupancy certification in the states.

• Stacks, everyone loved my results but not how I presented them. I think consensus is that I need to take a public speaking class to deal with the nerves better.

B, that's strangely reminiscent of my very first thread on E. I don't even remember what the thread was about but at some point Alix ran through it nekkid and you chased her out with Lysol. And I said, "This place is hilarious. I think I'll stay for a bit."
• aMrs.  You certainly win the wife of the year award for moving to the rainforest to your husbands life long dream place.  :)
• Well Opal - maybe if they gave you until NOVEMBER - you'd have felt better prepared and able to give the results with less nervousness!  :)  I feel you on public speaking though - I am the worst.  I gave a presentation in Business Management once and broke out into hives.  It was so embarrassing.  Now whenever I have to speak for anything I wear long sleeves and a turtle neck.  I just will never be able to do it.
• I'M GOING TO DISNEY TOMORROW!

And Monday I'm hanging out with MrsB and Julia

And Thursday I'm going to WWOHP.

Best. Week. Ever.

Honestly, we're more room-mates at this point.

I should have known when my Immigration atty told me "well, you're American so they'll know you aren't trying to move here for a better life"

• The thing is that I am a clean freak. Lysol and bleach are among my favorite things. I think I have to blame this one more on my MIL rather than my kiddos bc we haven't really had much sickness so far this year ::::knocks on wood::::::

I even use Lysol and Lysol wipes like crazy in the classroom. Ugh, hopefully the long weekend will do me some good.

Seriously. It's even dumber because there are no presentations next week. As in, they gave me five days notice to slap this together instead of just shifting our off week forward by a week. These people are not so skilled with logistics.
• Ugh mold.  It spreads like wildfire in our master bathroom.  I get rid of it and  then 2 days later it's back.

Good morning everyone!  My ILs are here for the weekend.  I took off yesterday, but am back at work today.  I think I can make it since it's Friday :)

• Good morning all! Thank goodness it's Friday! I'm sorta tired and maybe a bit hungover, but IT'S FRIDAY!!! Tonight is going to be pretty freaking awesome. H's best friend won a new flat screen, so he's selling us his 47" 2 year old one for $400. We were going to save up and get one for black Friday, but now we'll just let this one make due until H gets out of school and get's a good job and then we'll get a really big one.

Also, we're going on this thing called Danger Run. From what I gather, you start out at this little shack and they give you a clue. It has you running all over town, looking for clues and a couple places run you through haunted houses. It sounds pretty fun to me. Unfortunately, the wife is pregnant and is worried about getting scared and her blood pressure rising, so I have to stay in the car with her during the haunted houses.

• Oh, and? I passed a plane wreck on the way to work this morning. Everyone was ok, but they had to make an emergency landing on the intersate. Pretty surreal to be driving donw the road and look over and see plane wings.

Boo.  That would make me grouchy.  I'm easily annoyed by my pregnant friends these days - maybe I'm subconciously jealous?

• LVB - danger run sounds awesome......how come you get stuck missing the haunted houses?  That blows - that would be the best part!

And you can't beat $400 for a 47" flat screen.  SCORE!
• I volunteered because she wasn't goig to do the danger run at all because her H won't let her sit out in the car by herself. It's a little annoying, but I won't be using my passes to get in the houses and neither will she. So she'll give them to H and me for us to go through the houses later.

And jealousy is a possibility. I know I am.

It does sound pretty awesome, this is my first year doing it. I just wanted to be able to do part of it, even if I couldn't do all of it. And yeah, major score on the TV. We have a 27" tv so old that we had to buy the box for digital when they made the switchover. <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-yell.gif" border="0" alt="Yell" title="Yell" />

That's exactly what I get annoyed at.  They act like they can do nothing but sit at home and complain for the next nine months.  That sounds really insensitive; maybe I'll change my tune when I get pregnant.

Right, that's the problem. The haunted houses aren't in the best neighborhoods. She's sitting in the car because she's pregnant. I'm staying with her because her husband doesn't wnat her in that neighborhood alone in the car.

Wow, y'all, you're taking this way too seriously. She's not complaining about anything. She's not supposed to get her blood pressure up, as per the doctors orders. And her H won't let her sit in the car alone. This was the only thing I could think of where she could be even semi involved and not have to sit at home all night while the 3 of us went out and had a blast. That would have been pretty shiity of us.
