Re: post your favorite wedding dance songs!

  • Actually, speaking of unusual wedding songs... My fiance and I are dancing to Calling You by Blue October. Tell me that isn't unique! Plus, there will be a lot of Michael Jackson played, since I'm a fan

i love more obscure/ alternative music. i definitely won't be playing all that typical wedding music that's overplayed and cheesy. haha.

some from my wedding dance list:

electric feel and some others (not sure yet) by MGMT - great alternative to rap, electronic rock band
i'm not gonna teach and look at me by Black Kids - another electronic rocky band
    animal by Neon Trees
la bamba and moondance from the August Rush soundtrack romantic!
let's get it started by Black Eyed Peas fun song

  • try googling "alternative wedding songs" or "90s dance music,"  you'd be surprised at all the lists out there and they're great for triggering memories about you old favorites

[QUOTE]Whoa, alot for both! Thanks all, I really didnt think about having both in my party. Partly I guess because i'm not sure if the stage is big enough to hold 11. But something to think about and make it work. i love these boards, thank you again!!

<div>If you are worried about all of your WP fitting on the stage, you could have everyone sit in the first row and have your MOH and BM come up for the vows.</div>

Repeat this to your self: My Wedding Party is made of my family and friends and I should treat them as such.
  • I'll be playing  a huge mix of music with a lot of industrial and classic rock, and the Time Warp for the song everyone dances to instead of Cha-Cha Slide or YMCA which have been played to death at every wedding I've ever gone to. We wanted a lot of different songs, ones everyone doesn't play at their weddings.

    A few from my list:
When we kiss and walk back down the aisle together to go to the (on-site) reception, Queen - "Another One Bites The Dust"
    Later on,
Grand Funk Railroad - "Some Kind of Wonderful"
    The Sweet - "Ballroom Blitz"
Zeromancer - "Clone Your Love"r and "Need you Like A Drug"
    Apoptygma Berzerk - "Unicorn"
.38 Special - "Caught Up In You"
  • I have gone to a few weddings where they played Sweet Caroline and people went nuts, they took the mic from the DJ and everyone was dancing
  • I ALWAYS get up & dance when Cover of the Rolling Stone by Dr. Hook comes on.  Good luck!!  ;)
  • Not sure about the obscure part but the following are fun to dance to:

Funk Sole Brother by Flatboy Slim
Don't Stop The Music by Rihanna
    1,2 Step by Ciara
Jump Jive An Wail by The Brian Setzer Orchestra
Pride and Joy by Stevie Ray Vaughan
    Sway by Dean Martin
    Conga by Gloria Estefan
    Rock Around The Clock Tonight
    Everybody Dance Now
I Like To Move It Move It
    Footloose
    Calabria
  • You guys make me feel better about my song choices..!! I still don't know about my first dance song though! I love it but I'm not sure what our older family members will think...

We are having our first dance to Adam Sandler "Grow Old With You" Laughing
