  • I wash my hair every other day, and use dry shampoo in between - Umberto, at Target, is decent, and I agree that the Tresemme one sucks.  I haven't tried the Oscar Blandi that was linked earlier in the thread, but Brocato dry shampoo, about the same price and also at Ulta, works really well too.

If I just lift weights, I won't wash my hair, but I try to do cardio when I know I'm planning to wash my hair.

And I HAVE to blow dry it, or my part looks all greasy by about ten a.m.

One thing my stylist said is that if you play with it a lot, especially closer to the root, your hair will get greasier faster because of the oils on your hands.  Bad habit I have not managed to kick.

  • I never blow dry.  My ideal shower time is like 7:00 at night so I have enough time to let it airdry before I go to bed.  I'm normally busy then though, so I go to bed with it damp then try and salvage it with my straightener in the morning or pull it up in a ponytail.

yeah your hair is methy after a day of not washing it.  i sawed with my own two eyes.  but you could probs train it.  you just have to invest a week or two.

I remember getting my mom's tiny round brush stuck in my hair once. It was very traumatic.

No, but I do have relaxer in my hair.  And it's extremely thick and on the drier side, so washing it even every week tends to make it start to break unless I do some serious conditioning and a hot oil treatment twice a month.

ETA - when I get home, I'mma put a picture of what my hurr looked like at the end of our honeymoon.  It was a combination of humidity and me falling into the pool.  Then you'll see.  YOU'LL SEE WHAT I PUT UP WITH.

  • Trust me the 30th feels like a lifetime away. But my OB seems to think I should go into labor on my own with no problem as I have made some progress. It was either be induced on Sunday or wait until the 30th as my OB is going out of town from the 19th to th 28th.

I don't know what it is about my hair but I just really don't care. I brush it and make it look decent but I hate taking the time to do anything to it. The only times I ever had anything done to it was when I had an event to go to and had it done professionally.

    You're not alone.

I can't do anything with my hair. I either blow dry it and straighten it, or I put a whole lot of mousse in and let it dry naturally and then it will be super curly. I can't do anything in the middle on my own.

  • I totes learned how to use velcro rollers from Mandy (IN AUGUST) and then FINALLY, last week, I got them to make waves. I'm a failure at hair but now I know how! See?! My hair is naturally straight as a pin. This is a MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENT PEOPLE!

  • My question is, how many of you have in the past burned your ears or forehead with a curling iron? *raises hand* hurts like a biitch.

fish - I had one, too, and I also had one of those hair dryer attachments that made your hair all "messy" and stuff.

I mostly wash it everyday, but have some lazy no wash days. I judge those by what it looks like when I wake up. If it's a no wash day, I'll dampen it or wet it more (but not thoroughly soaked), then re-dry it. And by the end of the day, I'm ready to wash it.

  • I wash it about every 5 days.  I have really thick wavy hair and a very dry scalp.  The individual strands of hair are not thick, I just have a LOT of hair.

After bleaching the crap out of it for 10 years my hair was in terrible shape. It was dry and broke off at ear length.  My hairdresser suggested to try and get it healthy.  She told me to go as long as possible without washing it.  I went 2 months of washing it once every 8 days or so (I wore a lot of bandannas and head scarfs for this).  It worked and now my hair is super healthy.

When I do wash it, I use 3 shampoos and 2 conditioners.  Then I flat iron it and am good for the 5 days.  The only time I have to wash it more is the week of my period when my hair gets oily faster.
