<div>Yea, it's pretty pricey. I mostly go there for all my vegan stuff since I can't get it at a lot of other places. And for bulk items like rice and spices. </div>
  • Hi!

TJ's vegan oatmeal cookies are amazing. So is their frozen polenta with carrots and spinach.

  • I need to try this TJ wine.  I usually go to TJs to get sesame sticks and fruit strips. Yum.

Rachers, your hair sounds like it is wicked pretty.  I love the ombre look but dont think I could pull it off.

I think you are talking about the one in The Woodlands. Depending on where you live in Houston, yes it is far. It's only about 25 minutes from me but the crazies are still lining up around the block on Saturdays so I haven't made a trip yet. Not even for the $3 wine!

[QUOTE]I like the TJ's frozen food selection. Frozen vegetables and fruit are CHEAP. I got a pound of frozen organic blueberries for $3 when Kroger was charging $8.50 for non-organic ones. Their $3 bottles of wine don't suck. It's what our church serves at receptions and parties and stuff.

  • Hello everyone. I'm here again, feeling defeated.

I'm getting so frustrated about finding a new place to live since our lease is up September 30 and the baby is due September 15. H and I have agreed that moving before the baby arrives is ideal, because we don't want to be stressed out moving and not enjoying our first 2 weeks with the baby.

In short, we've got a couple of options, but I can't make my mind up, and I'm also deeply fearing getting a shitty landlord, and now, after having a conversation with my mom a few minutes ago about it, I'm even more scared---so much that I cried. Mostly because she was just stressing me out more.

If you're willing to read my post that I posted on my birth-month board and lend advice, it'd be appreciated. Feel free to just post the advice here if you don't want to post on my BMB.

[QUOTE]Button - I bet you could! My hair lady used these crazy fly strip looking things to separate little pieces of my hair and that's what she put the lighter color on. I'm surprised how 'natural' looking it came out, which is what I was going for.

I think I am going to talk to my stylist back home about it.  I always want to do something fun with my hair but never know what to do.  But Paul does magical things to my hair, which is why I only get haircuts when I go home.

  • We just had a Whole Foods open up this week.  The place has been packed since it opened.  TJ's was like that when it first opened as well.  It took me a few months to make it into TJ's, I assume it will be a while with Whole Foods as well.

  • Nicki, I'm not sure what the name of them is. I want to go and get more, so when I do, I'll let you know!

  • Jess, I'd say go for option 2.  When we moved in our current apartment, there was a small hole in the carpet seam between the master bedroom and the living room.  They tried to "patch" it, but it is still there.  Do I like it? No, but I made sure when we signed the lease that it was noted it was a pre-existing cosmetic issue so we werent responsible for it.  When we re-signed our lease this year, I made sure they added a clause that says the cracking we experience in the corners of some of the rooms is not our fault.  The building is settling and the walls are poorly made.  You might even be able to get the stains out?

</div><div>I would make sure that the satins and defects are noted in the lease, and I'd also send a letter to the landlord regarding the defects, especially if there is no walk through/move in sheet provided. Just do it as a note saying, "Prior to move in, we noted the following issues..." Keep a copy of the letter and send it registered mail with signature required.  Also take pictures before you move in and keep them for after move out, in case the LL tries to diiick you over on the deposit.

  • We have a local chain, but they've expanded quite a bit, so I don't consider them all that "local" anymore. The owner used to live down the street from me growing up, though.

When I used to model I'd be up in Chicago a lot and there was a Whole Foods right by my agency, so I'd hang out there to kill time before my appointments. They had some tasty bakery items, I must say. I have good memories of hanging out in that store, haha, but there isn't one local to me now, so I've never really done any grocery shopping there.

  • oh my god. My brother is playing rockband drums upstairs, and shaking the damn chandelier. The pounding is beyond annoying.

  • Lizzie, YGPM. I didn't want to subject myself to the WWW of ridicule.

We have a local store. I just got a job there, actually.  The problem with them, if they get big, they expand and seem less local.  This place did get a little bit bigger, but I still consider it to be local. Whole foods is really kind of far for this area, so it is kind of pointless to make that drive to try and buy local, if that makes sense.
  • Ugh, Sara, I hate all those music video games. My neighbors in college played Rock Band ALL the time, and they sucked. It was sooo annoying.
  • When my other brothers GF is here, they play and she sings. It is AWFUL. I used to play guitar hero all the time, and loved it. But singing and drums? no.
    image
  • Yeah, we have the Rockband set and we're giving it to my brother.

H wanted to sell it, and I was like, "Nobody wants to buy that. It's no longer all the rage.

  • My aunt and uncle actually take Guitar Hero with them on vacation.  They also take their dvd of High School Musical, so I guess Guitar Hero isn't that weird (comparatively).
    image
  • Jess I'm sure you could find someone to buy it if you were dead set on selling it. But I agree, it's not nearly as popular as it was when it came out.
