How has wedding planning been for you? It's far more fun to plan other people's weddings.  Most of the major things are picked out, so I don't really have anything to do until it gets closer.

Mandy wants to know if you like pizza? I love Pizza.  My favorite is taco pizza.  Two delicious foods in one.

Alix wants to know if you like vampires, and which ones? I have never seen Twilight, and not really into vampires.

Team Peeta or Team Gale? I keep hearing how I need to read the HG series- It's on my list, so I will report back when I made a decision.

Well, hell. I'ma gonna play too. The rest of my afternoon is empty. This morning was another story.

How goes it?  Tell us about yourself. I'm cold, and I saw someone wearing flip flops today. It isn't even 50, people. There will be no summer, I'm convinced. I'm an academic secretary; a Southerner born and raised, transplanted to the Midwest because of wuv - twu wuv.

Are you engaged? Nope. We will celebrate our 2nd anniversary in September. Holy cow. How'd your FI ask?  (short story please) In our hotel room after a day at Disney, and after carrying the ring around all day. He almost proposed in the Haunted Mansion, which would have been a great story, but he thought it would be cheesy.

Have you been lurking for a while, or did you just show up? I lurked at first, posting on the Vegas board for some ideas, then just slipped my toe in here and there. Fish said she hadn't ever seen me before (AND I ANSWERED ONE OF HER POLLS!).

How has wedding planning been for you? Called hotel, arranged days off with work and my dad's travel schedule, sent invites, booked cake, signed contract - boom. Done. Oh - made iPod playlist. We decided on our 2 songs I think the night before we left.

Mandy wants to know if you like pizza? My H would live on it. I do like it, but I can't eat it every day. I like cheese; pepperoni; veggie (no mushrooms); and Hawaiian with onions.

Yes, you read right. His head is as hard as a rock, his neck's as big as my husband's, and his chest is 2 inches bigger than my waist. He's given me a black eye with his head, and almost broken my nose with it. But, I do love him. Most days.

How goes it?  Tell us about yourself. Good! I'm 26, I'm the director of a scholarship foundation, and I'm a generally happy person. I like going to the movies and color coding things.

Are you engaged? How'd your FI ask? I am engaged-- he proposed at the spot where we met. I was totally surprised.

Have you been lurking for a while, or did you just show up? I've been lurking.

How has wedding planning been for you? Pretty good so far. Our wedding is still pretty far off (18 months from today!), so we haven't hit much in the way of stress yet. 

Mandy wants to know if you like pizza? I love pizza. Lots of it. With lots of cheese and 10 million veggies on it.

I accidentally deleted the vampire question, but:  I do like vampires! I've read and seen Twilight and FI likes True Blood, but to be honest-- I used to LOVE Buffy the Vampire Slayer and will always be partial to the undead of Sunnydale. I even took a class in college called From Beowulf to Buffy, and it was about the history of vampires in literature and pop culture. (This was all pre-Twilight; I'm sure the class would be totally different now.)

Usually by the time I get here, any questions have already been answered and I've felt a little creepy just jumping into conversations. But I think I'll post more now, because I feel like I've introduced myself.

Oh - animals, do you have any?  I'm sure a cute picture of an animal would make you some friends here. I have two kittens-- we adopted them in January. They shared a crate at the shelter, so we didn't want to split them up. Pictures below. Baxter is black and white and loves practicing his vertical leap, unraveling rolls of toilet paper and playing with his toys. Pippit is all black and loves snuggling under the covers, keeping me company while I make dinner and laying in sunbeams.

How has wedding planning been for you? Fun! I've not had really many headaches. I'm a planner by nature so most of the big stuff is done and I still have  about 5 months left.

acwm - I also have action figures of Spike, Giles, and Wesley on my bookshelf.  They're pretty much the coolest things ever.  The Spike one is him as Randy Giles from the Tabula Rasa episode where they all get amnesia.  I'm going watch that as soon as I get home!

Well at the moment I have a cold, so it could be going better. But on the plus side, I have today off work so I can stay at home and recuperate, so that's good. Hmm what to tell you about myself. I'm 23 years old. I grew up just outside Detroit but now live very close to Toledo. I sell high-end home theater equipment but want to do something involving writing or teaching. I feel some sort of connection with Robotlegs despite still being a newb because my coworkers tend to refer to me as Daria, haha.

I've been lurking for quite some time and have posted quite a bit, but my post count is definitely still low enough to be considered a newb, so I figured I'd post here.

How has wedding planning been for you?
I had lots of ideas and was having tons of fun finding inspiration. Now that I have to actually do something with all the inspiration it's become a bit more stressful. I've started having myself and FI do one small thing for the wedding every day, so we're getting things accomplished but not becoming overwhelmed.

As long as it's just cheese and pepperoni. Preferably extra cheese

Nope, sorry. But I do have a Harry Potter obsession. I forget who has the siggy with the crying during the opening credits, but that is basically me.

How goes it?  Tell us about yourself.  It goes reasonably well.  I'm Andrea, I'm 26, I live in SoFL and I actually kind of like it.  I don't like coffee.  I'm proud of myself for getting contact lenses before my wedding and learning to put them in.  I speak a bunch of languages.  I have four wedding outfits (I know, I know, but it's a hybrid Indian-American wedding).  I want a puppy.

How has wedding planning been for you?  Relatively uncomplicated, all things considered.  The cake tasting was an unmitigated disappointment, though.

Are you engaged?  How'd your FI ask?  (short story please)  Yes, getting married in Sept 2011. FI cooked me a 4 course meal, complete with candles and real champagne then got down on one knee and asked.

How has wedding planning been for you?  Good, most of the big stuff is taken care of. It's been pretty stress free so far.

-Well...I'm about 39 weeks preggo and completely miserable, so I might come off as testy sometimes, but I promise I'm not that bad. haha Other than that, I'm 26, from San Antonio TX, and FI and I have 2 other little wacky little children. -There never was an official proposal, we just knew we would get married after dating for about a month. We had planned on getting married a LOT sooner, but thanks to a car accident, losing a job, and a surprise pregnancy we've postponed it for a ridiculously long time.

How has wedding planning been for you?
-I like it so far, but I don't have anyone to talk wedding stuff to (no family and my FMIL isn't exactly my go-to lol) Even though it's far off, we're booking our fave vendors now so we know that we have who we want. Venues, cake, linens, and DJ are checked off the list... yay me!

Mandy wants to know if you like pizza?
-I absolutely could not live without it. It is a dream of mine to try authentic Chicago style pizza one day...not the recreations we get down here.

Alix wants to know if you like vampires, and which ones?
-Call me old school...I Bela Lugosi and I still love Louis and Lestat. The Twilight books were surprisingly good, but I don't know how I feel about sparkling vampires...

-Haven't read it yet. I'm just starting the first Sookie Stackhouse book...with small children, I'm lucky to get a shower everyday let alone read the massive amount of books that I want to.

Why don't you post more often?  Do you think you will now?
-I'm still learning about all the formal wedding etiquette as no one really follows it down here (haha) and I'll probably just keep posting only on the things that I either have an opinion on or could give correct info.

-I have a rat terrier mix named Penny who thinks she's people. I had her before I had FI and she is my vicious little ankle biting protector. We also have a really annoying yet lovable cat named Bones (random Star Trek reference??) I will try to dig up some pics of both of them.

How'd your FI ask?  (short story please) Took me to San Diego for the weekend, wore me out running me around Balboa Park and the zoo, then took me on a 5 mile hike up and down the cliffs on th beach.  When we stopped for a photo op break, he proposed.

Have you been lurking for a while, or did you just show up? I post every now and then, but mostly just lurking.

How has wedding planning been for you? I hate it.  Haha.  I never wanted a wedding- my plan was to call up the judge I clerked for, road trip to the middle-of-nowhere courthouse on a Friday afternoon, get hitched, and go out ot dinner with our parents.  FI's family, however, NEEDS a wedding.  A traditional, Catholic, big party, open bar, exorbitantly expensive wedding.  So I'm planning it, and I'm really only enjoying dress shopping.

Howdy! It's goin alright... although it's been raining nonstop here in Cincinnati for the past like week and a half so I'm ready for some sunshine! 

I'm Allyson, 25... doing artwork for a large consumer goods company. I just finished an intense P90X workout and I'm starving... would love to have some General Tso's chicken from the chinese takeout down the street but can't because I'm *attempting to* count calories.. ahhh!!

Yes... I am! We were on a ski trip in Tahoe.... took a "day off" and went to the National Auto Museum in Reno (we like cars, esp Corvettes). He proposed in front of John Waynes '53 Corvette (there's a story behind that...). Of course it took me a couple minutes for me to realize he was down on one knee because I was more focused flippin through the pics on the digital camera to notice.. oops...

Great, actually... aside from the fact that FI's mom keeps insisting that we do a choreographed dance to Cotton Eyed Joe at the reception (... at a swanky, modern glass museum...). Me thinks no....

I've got a pet cockatiel (bird) named Rudy. We named him after the mascot of the University of Dayton, where FI & I met. He sings the fight song, and says a couple cute things. I just tried posting a pic but am having issues with the computer.. I'll try again later (he's so stinkin' cute and I would love to make some friends here!)

We also "adopt" our neighbors dog occasionally, and take him on walks.

How goes it?  Tell us about yourself. Well, I'm a teacher and it's standardized test week, so it goes kind of stressfully.

Are you engaged?  How'd your FI ask?  (short story please) Yes.  He was working in Saudi Arabia and his company flew me to Dubai for Eid and he asked me there.

Have you been lurking for a while, or did you just show up? I stick pretty much to my local board, but I've lurked around here since about last September.

How has wedding planning been for you? I didn't know what I was doing, so I hired a coordinator first thing (plus FI wasn't going to be back in the country for a month, so he asked me not to tell anyone -- so I got to tell the coordinator), so basically we're done planning with six months to go and really ready to be married now.
