Living Single was the first thing that came to my mind.

• I had 4 random people in the hospital yesterday ask me if I speak Spanish and then be very surprised when I said no.  It was kinda confusing.
In Response to Re: Night people bat signal : What kind of work do you do that you can drink on the job? Did you really consider just plopping a straw in your wine?
Posted by bree4305
Sorry Bree - guess I could have stated that better.  I'm at home, drinking my huge glass of wine waiting to be done at my job in a couple of months.  I'm retiring and I never thought the last few weeks would slug along like this.  I'd LOVE to drink at work!
• Thanks Beachy.  I've seen some crazy names in my special ed paperwork procesing days including some of the aforementioned ones.
• I need to get back to work so retirement is actually a possibility.  Before I left me old job to move I would have been able to retire at like 52 and have my 30 years in.  Now I'm going to end up being like 60 if they don't let my out of state years count.

• No wine here :( I have no self control so if I had wine I would probably get drunk and be hungover and I would rather not be dealing with that again :)
image
• dn - I hope they count those for you .  I will be 52 next month, but I am still going to find something.  I just won't have to deal with the stress and it's going to be something I WANT to do instead of HAVE to do.
• Hey all. For some reason I didn't know that you weren't married steelz. I think I just assumed that your wedding happened before my "time" on TK.

We got our wedding video in the mail today and I'm dying to watch it. But I agreed with J to wait until we are together this weekend to watch it together. AHHH temptation.

• I'd move back to HH in a hot minute if I didn't have to work.  Or raise kids there, too, now that I think about it.  Having worked in that school system I can't see myself consciously subjecting them to that.  Seeing as neither of those situations will be happening anytime soon, I can just forget about it.

• I wish I had time for a job. I need money like wo right now. Just spent $640 today for replacing my rotors, brake pads, and fixing a leak that was emptying almost all of my antifreeze out of my engine. And the mechanic told me that I should come in to replace my timing belt at 60,000 miles. It will cost between $600-700 he estimated. My current mileage? 55,500. FML.

It's that 2004 date that throws people off.  I created the account so I could look at something when a friend was getting married, and then forgot about it pretty much.  When I got laid off and was out of work I was on the main page looking for someone's registry and one of the message boards links at the bottom of the page piqued my interest so I started lurking (I had a lot of time on my hands).  When I decided to start finally posting I went through my array of passwords and found the account still active.  It's not something I really broadcast, but I don't care if people know.

And how exciting about your wedding video!
• Strlz I guess I didn't know that either.  Your resident singleton comment threw me off, then MuSu said it and I realized that maybe I was just completely ignorant about your situation.

• Ahh gotcha steelz. :)

• I don't think I realized you weren't married either Stlrz. :)

MuSu... so sorry.  It always seems with $$ matters that it's one step forward and two (or at least one and a half) steps back.
• I'm FB friends with Fishy & GG so I knew at least they knew for sure, but it's come up once or twice in a roundabout way, but never something blatantly obvious.
• Loopy ain't that the truth! Not that anyone has that kind of money to drop easily but I'm kind of stressing about it since I literally only have a depleting income that I spend basically on bills, food, and gas and very few fun "extras". So I have no idea where that money will come from.

• There was someone else in that thread who had just started posting (low post count) who was pretty exuberant about how extremely single she is... kinsey or something?
• I hate having to deal with car repairs, which reminds me that I need to take my car in for an oil change this weekend.

They are the worst! I mean, I get that things just happen from wear and tear on the car, but gah.

• MuSu that stinks about the repairs.  I am also desperately in need of making more money since i'm only working one day a week right now and I'm the one spending all the money.  But it's not too bad of a situation right now since H's pay is tax free right plus we are getting all of the deployment extra pays too so that helps make up for it.

Yeah I saw that.  I wouldn't say being single is something to be exuberant about (well at least for me it isn't), but I need to get some control over my life, job, etc. before I can throw anything else into the mix right now.

That blows, MuSu.  I have around the same mileage and am worried I may be in the same boat.  Yesterday my alarm clicker wasn't unlocking my doors and when I got in with the key, my stereo system was off and "open door" indicator was lit.  Then I was upstairs a little while ago and my alarm went off out of nowhere and no one was around to accidentally cause it.

H thought it was the battery yesterday but now thinks it's some kind of electrical issue.  I hope it's a cheap and easy fix, I'm out of warranty and unemployed. If it's bad, I guess we'll just have to share H's car til I get a paycheck.

And I was so excited when I made a car payment the other night and realized I only have 4 more payments left.

Yup, that was Kinsey.
• Oh and I need to go get an oil change but I'm embarrassed to go again since i literally just got one like 3 weeks ago.  And that's with going 6,000 miles between oil changes.

• Major car repairs tend to come just as the car gets paid off.  I am so ready for a new car, but it can't happen until I get a full-time job.

</div><div>I totalled my first car (rear ended someone) the first month after I paid it off, before i'd had a chance to save up a downpayment or any extra towards the next vehicle.  Right back to a car payment.  Ugh.
