GOOD MORNING!

Re: GOOD MORNING!

  • Today is kind of a slow day.  I'm surprised it's already noon.

Surprised, but not totally sad about it.

  • YAY TIME FOR LUNCH!

It's slow for me, too, Bay.  I'm having a software issue that has been prohibiting my work.
  • Good morning! I've a good morning so far. Special, I have the same problem with food on campus. I try to eat breakfast and lunch at work, then have a late-ish dinner at home. Luckily, all the little food places are inside the same building and there aren't any classes in that building. I never have to walk by any temptations!
  • Well that sounds terrifying, Birdie.  I can deal with hurricanes all day long, but tornadoes?  No thank you.

  • Birdie, that would scare me! We don't even have a basement.
  • LDY speaks the truth.

Anna, I just throw an ice pack in my lunch bag. It keeps my soda and sandwich cold. I get weired out when food that is supposed to be cold is not, and food that is supposed to be hot is not.  I have (and highly recommend) a lunch bag like this:

  • I'm with you on that, Adamar.

  • I hate the whole bringing food thing to campus too Special. Right now I just have some cheezits to munch on for lunch since I didn't bring anything. It is the first day back so the basement (where I like to hang in my breaks) is super crowded and loud. I'm anti social and sit in the corner by myself, haha.

  • MP, YGPM in about a minute.
  • Birdie-- is everything okay?  Should I call my SIL in L'vill?
  • Special, we have a fridge in my office, I just don't use it. It's set really cold and the one time I used it the veggies in my salad were practically frozen solid by lunchtime. I'm not actually worried about dying of food poisoning though. I live life on the wild side and completely disregard "the danger zone" and stuff like that most of the time.
  • I don't refrigerate my stuff either. Usually my lunch is a sandwich plus something else. I just leave the food in my lunch bag. I tend to eat a pretty early though, so the food is only out for a few hours.
  • You're such a rebel, Anna.  I can't put my salad stuff on the top shelf of my fridge otherwise it freezes.  I've tried adjusting the temperature, but I'm scared of setting it too low.

  • Why don't you put it in the crisper box Adamar? Stuff on the top shelf does always freeze easier, we keep milk and stuff like that up there.
  • We dont' have a basement at home, but we do at work. Of course I got to drive right towards everything when I was driving from my dentist appointment to work.

Snips, that part of town had some bad wind, but no torandos!
  • It's cool to live on the wild side.  I've now talked Matt into eating the pizza that's been sitting out since the night before.  We're both still here!

    Special, PM back.

Okay, now it's really time for lunch and dog walking.  I hope that the sidewalks are clear of the "snow".
  • Actually I think the part of town your family lives in wasn't hit bad at all. It was mostly north of the city, so downtown got it and then a bit on the east side.
  • It freezes in the crisper box too.  Not all the time, just sometimes.  My fridge is weird.

  • That's so scary Birdie, I'm glad your ok!

I usually put my stuff in the fridge at work but if it's full of crap I just leave it in my lunch bag and leave my bag zippered to keep it cooler longer.
  • In other fun news, I get to have some fillings replaced! Yell

But I need it done, so I'm going to be a big girl and deal with it.
  • I'm kind of pissed (not really) at my coworker though. First I texted him when I was leaving the dentist saying I was on my way. Then I texted that I was driving towards a tornado when ish started to get real and he never once texted back saying they had gone down to the basement! I was like THANKS BUDDY.
  • Yeah, growing up we regularly ate food that had been left out all night. And our butter almost never got refridgerated. So I guess my lazyness with food safety is all my mom's fault.

Ick, this is exactly the reason I don't want to go to my dentist appt next month.
  • Maybe he left his phone upstairs?
  • Morning! Which feels weird to say since I have been lurking but have not had a chance to post yet. I really want that lunch box special- its so cute! I can give H my big ugly blue one. I just ate an English muffin and am trying to talk myself down from another one. It was delicious and I just got a toaster in my office and I love it.
  • The butter thing is interesting to me, Anna. All of my life we always had our butter in the fridge and when I started dating J, I noticed he would leave butter out (in a covered container) or in the cupboard because his mom keeps theirs in the cupboard. It was so weird to me.

  • Anna, I asked him when I GOT TO THE BASEMENT if he'd seen my text and he laughed and said yeah. I wasn't too concerned though, because I knew what it looked like outside. By the time I got there, the bad stuff had passed.

I'm not looking forward to it, but the one I'm getting fixed first has been bothering me, so I tell myself something good will be coming out of it!
  • Oh. Well then. I would be annoyed too.
  • Ugh now that I'm done with my five million follow ups with the eye doctor I guess it's time for the dentist.  I need to take advantage of the insurance while I have it.
