I see you! -- Happy Sunday

Re: I see you! -- Happy Sunday

• Nola, that stinks.
• Nola that's awful about your client, but I'm sure your boss will realize you're doing a great job after observing you for a little while.  and I'm so sorry for your friend - I will be sending good thoughts their way.

Mica, I feel your pain on the small kitchen thing... we're in an apartment, and the apartment itself isn't the smallest I've lived in, but the kitchen is so tiny it's making me crazy.

• Aleigh enjoy, enjoy.  That sounds like a fun lunch.

Mica, that looks like a must try recipe.  Did you order your starter yeast from the recommended website?  And/or were you able to find it local.  I do not have the recommended stoneware to bake the final product, but that is a technicallity I can overcome with a trip to the store.  Also, I do not have a stand mixer or a bread mixer.  I have been hinting to FI that I would like a stand mixer.  I see this recipe in my future.

Question, how to you each clean your engagement ring.  I cleaned mine yesterday for the first time in a solution of water and dishsoap, (microwaved for 2 minutes) the solution, not my ring.  And then scrubbed gently with a new toothbrush.  The results are amazing and blinding.   Oooh sparkly!
• Ski- I have ring cleaner I use occasionally but I usually just do it when I take it in for its 6 month inspection.
• My kitchen isn't tiny, it just isn't laid out in a way that allows me to unpack all of my stuff.  The whole house was "designed" by a bachelor who didn't know how to make a practical, functional house.  He just filled up the kitchen with identically-sized cabinets, which is fine for plates but not so good for slow cookers and food processors.  And of course, there's the whole upstairs master bedroom loft that has a tiny closet and a bathroom wtihout a shower and no walls for privacy from the downstairs living room.

We need to move.  I would like to be able to sleep in the master bedroom of my house and have a kitchen where all of my stuff fits.
• Good morning ladies!

Nola, that sucks.  We always have clients making complaints like that at our firm.  Luckily we are obsessive CYAers up in that peice and are able to show the many, many email communications to our boss.  Luckily she always sends replies back to the client along the lines of "I'm sorry that you feel that way, but according to our records we have emailed you five times in the last week and did x, y, and z that are outside the scope of our representation agreement and we should have charged you extra for that but we didn't"  and they can't say much to that.
Time to keep chugging on laundry. The ravens play at 1 today and as much as I love us winning, being in the playoffs is hard on me. I don't enjoy watching the games, I am too afraid to ever talk smack, and my favorite players jersey I have? I don't ever wear it because the two times I did we lost. I CAN'T BE A GOOD FOOTBALL FAN I AM TOO WEAK.
Posted by Rosie109
I totally understand.  I keep saying things like "IF we beat the Texans" and my FI keeps going "What's this IF?  We are!" and proceeds to talk smack about other teams, but I'm like "WE DON'T KNOW IF I SAY IT LIKE THAT I'M JINXING THE TEAM!!!"

I'm kinda glad I'm working today and won't be able to watch the first part of the game.  I only want to start watching if we have a comfortable lead in the third or fourth quarter!

Oh and hello everyone!  LTNS!  I'm starting to freak out some because of the wedding.  I thought I had so much stuff done but I keep finding more things we need to do, and I have my first fitting on Tuesday and I'm terrified that I've gained too much weight and the dress won't fit.  Why oh why didn't I start working out again last April like I meant to???

We did mail the invites yesterday though, so that's one thing done.  But still.  So much left to do.  And only 69 days to do it!

• Jealous, Aleigh!  Have a great time!

Nola *HUGS* :(  That is so sad.

• NOLA - Just keep doing your job and what you know is right and it will all work out. It still sucks though. I've been there before with people making up things about me too. It all works out if you have been doing what you're supposed to. Try not to let it get to you too much.

And I'm sorry about your friend.

• Ski, I made my starter from scratch.  That's why I'm not 100% that this will all work out -- I'm depending on whatever yeast was in the flour to be strong enough to turn out good loaves of bread.  I have made sourdough starter in the past, but never loved it enough to keep the starter.  Of course, back then I could buy decent sourdough at my grocery store.  In FL, not so much.
• Just wanted to report that the waffles are in progress.

Also, after reading about everyone's baking adventures, I kind of wish I had a job that didn't require like 70 hours of my life per week.... actually, I wish that anyway, but now I'm thinking I'd use any future free time to bake bread, instead of just watch trashy shows on TLC.

Nola, good thoughts to you and your friend.  You are a good person and your boss will realize that upon observation.  Do let your friend know that you are thinking of him.  He can use all of the support he can get at this point.  His situation totally stinks.

Barrell, moving day huh?  You are going to be so happy this week to just have one place to be at rather than two.  How is the running going?  As I remember you were tackling hills last we spoke.
• Good morning, hosers! Guys. I am abcde. No I'm not.

• I have a waffle maker that I've never used. Along with about 50% of our other wedding gifts, but they sure do look spiffy sitting on the counter.

• Ugh, now that's a beetlejuice name if I've ever heard one.
• Don't lie Fishy. You know you love to make up AEs and confess your true feelings.

• So the wafflemaker was a partial success - the first two waffles looked completely busted, but I managed to make two respectable-looking waffles too, so I'm declaring the whole endeavor to be a success.

And Fische, I vote you use your wafflemaker - it's fun and now I feel like I've actually accomplished something today (which will make me feel better about the fact that I plan to spend the rest of today doing precisely nothing).

• But see, then I'd have to go buy groceries. Looks like it's cold pizza for me.

I plan on doing precisely nothing today but ass around on the internet, play words with friends, and watch the food network.

MAYBE I'll go see my nephews if I get really ambitious.

• Go Steph, I like your plan for today.  I just may join you on that train.

• Oh, NOLA. That's so incredibly sad about the baby!  =-(

• Ski- i use toothpaste on my ring a couple of times a week.  I've been dealing with ring rash off and on for about 6 months so I'm trying to remember to take it off every time I wash my hands and then leave it off overnight/when I'm at home.  I recently soaked it in hydrogen peroxide and oh, the stuff that floated out!  I then boiled it for a couple of minutes to kill off anything that might be left.

• Are your nephews cute and/or funny?  Because then I vote visit nephews.

Also, I hate grocery shopping, especially on Sunday - it's like the designated "clueless dad with a really long list and three screaming, hyper children" shopping day.
