I just got back from getting a pedicure and now I'm doing some online shopping. Hopefully H will get off work early enough that we can go out for dinner - I'm not in the mood to make anything.

I am just hangin' out. Awesome workout with my trainer today. Awesome discussion about life in general with H and DD. Also, H and I have very much made peace with her bio mom, which is huge. 

I was supposed to go to a thing tonight with my sister-in-law but she isn't feeling well and I wasn't either earlier but now am fine. Oh well. We will do something this weekend, I'm sure. 

Anyway, been a pretty dang good couple of days around Chez Wally.

Jealous of your pedi, Leisel. My heels are in dire need of some pampering!

A Discovery of Witches is on my wishlist!

I got two shower invites today. one for a "Gift Card Baby Shower" for the girlfriend of a guy I worked with two jobs ago (I've met GF once and hated her). But don't worry, there is an asterisk (yes, really) at the bottom and it says "Suggestion only." The other was for a wedding shower for a girl I went to HS with and her FI, and at the bottom it says "While Dude and Chick are registered at Target, they're currently looking for a home so they prefer monetary gifts so they can pick out wedding gifts specific to their future home."



AND ALSO? I saw an almost accident on the way home, but I'm not so sure it would have been an accident... So I'm driving down the highway (two lanes in each direction, grassy median in between that is level for about 2 feet and then dips down). There is a red truck in front of me. Red Mustang and silver Hyundai merge onto the highway. I slowed down a bit to let them both in front of me and red truck moved to the left lane. Mustang merges into the right lane all normal like, and then swerves into the left lane, even with red truck. Red truck drove off the road (no shoulder) into the grass, and somehow kept control. He tried to speed up to get in front of the Mustang (probably assuming that the Mustang's reaction would be to jack on the brakes?) but the Mustang keeps even with him. So then he slows down and Mustang slows down. Finally red truck floors it (mind you, he's still driving IN THE GRASSY, NOT LEVEL MEDIAN, and the speed limit here is 70--which everyone is going) and gets in front of the Mustang, and slows way down. We now enter a construction zone--down to one lane. Dude's going super slow. Mustang swerves off at the next exit, and truck gets off at the one after.

It seriously looked like something you'd see in a movie. It scared the bejeezus out of me, and I have no idea how dude in the truck kept control. If that had been me, I'm pretty sure I would have ended up flipping my HIghlander trying to get out the Mustang's way.

Vampires/witches/demons - but it's mostly a love story - and it's not young adult.  It's not my usual reading fare, but I loved them.

Good Evening!

FI and I just got done with dinner - bacon wrapped turkey medallions and spinach/bacon stuffed portabellas.  Yum!  We'll be going out for a run/walk a bit later on.

Loopy - I just picked up the sequel yesterday, so far, so good.  I loved the first one so I hope I love this one as well.

Dude, I don't know, but it almost seemed purposeful.  That's probably my conspiracy theorist talking, but it was just super, super weird.

And no, I am NOT going to either shower.  WTF.

Oh, I'm over here now. J I wish we lived closer so we could workout together. I need a buddy. I'm pretty good at motivating myself, I would just prefer to workout with someone.

H and I are about to go swim some outdoor pool laps.  Want to come?  I could use a buddy too. 

My legs KILL from last night's class.  Like, peeing is torture because it hurts so much to sit and stand.   I hope that swimming will move some of the lactic acid out and get things loosened up.

I'm the kind of person who would go to those showers, or to a wedding for people who did everything wrong etiquette wise just because I'm curious like that.

J I was almost IN an accident today. I was coming around a blind curve and some asshole was in MY lane coming up the hill around the curve. Didn't even slow down, just swerved back in to his lane, while I had to slam on my breaks.

J I would love love love love love to swim laps. Swimming is my favorite form of cardio. I haven't found a pool here to go to though.

I'm super excited because today is my Friday.  We're leaving this weekend to house sit for my parents and go to a wedding near my hometown.  At the wedding we'll see lots of friends we don't see often.  It should be good times.
