How goes the battle today?

I'm keeping a close eye on a stupid snow storm that may impede my travels this weekend. Grr.

It looks like Fargo may only get 5 inches, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Anyone working today? Still on vacation?

I think everyone should just get the week between christmas and New Year's off. That'd be fantastic.

I bet productivity is shiit this week for most places.

I am not working, but today I submitted my PhD- woo! 

 

AND we bought a new tv so we're staying up later than usual watching ridiculous movies and wasting time being antisocial. But I got to drink Moet, so all is ok. Go me!

The snow is not allowed to ruin your amazing NYE plans!

I fully support the international "no one works between Christmas and New Year's" plan. I'm here, but I wish I didn't have to be.

We have our first soccer game tonight though with my company's team, so I'm excited and hope I don't play like ass. I played in high school and was pretty decent, but it's been a while, so I'm still at the stage where my brain knows exactly what to do and my feet just don't always cooperate.

and re: the OP on snow, we've had crazy amounts of rain this year- only one or two sunny days all summer so far! I am loving the cool weather, although the roof leaking and the flooding I could take or leave.

Thanks Fische! I know- I have been in PhD land for the past few months and haven't got over here very frequently. I still love you girls! 

What are these NYE plans of which you speak?

I'm heading to Toronto to stay with alix for the week! Mandy's coming, too.

And we're supposed to meet up with Anysunrise, Loopy, DNBeach, and Nebb!!

And Frankie and Ringpop the next day!

But the way they are talking about this storm...makes me nervous.

Good morning!  Back in the office after a long weekend and a snow day yesterday.  One of my coworkers is having serious surgery today, so it's pretty quiet and nerve-wracking here in the office today.

Congratulations, Sun!  That must be quite the relief.

Hope you get the smaller amount of snow, Fishy.

Boooo for snow, Fishy!  We got lucky here and were bypassed by that storm that hit Christmas & the 26th.

I'm working all week. But on the early shift so I will be out at 4pm on NY Eve! 

Tonight I'm getting together with my BFF, working on placecards for her wedding in less than 2 weeks!!! Squeeeee!!!

I think we've gotten 35 inches so far this year?

Right now, it's unseasonably warm, which means danger. It always means danger.

emily- So far, so good! I love it. I'm very, very busy- I kind of walked in to a mess. The entire team here in this office dissolved a few months ago and clearly had no concept of what they were supposed to be doing here. There's 2 of us now, and we're looking to hire one more person to our team. It will be a long road but we're getting things cleaned up.
