Morning ladies!  I missed yesterdays Christmas Confession/Vent/Recap so my complaint is that my half-sister got an ipod, throwing knives (WTF?) and a car.  I guess that's ok because my dad and stepmom got me a car too.  Oh wait, never mind, they got me a carD.  A card.  Oh and a poinsettia, don't forget the plant.

I took yesterday off and I'm glad I did because I would not have felt like dealing with the snow yesterday morning.  Unfortunately, H was going through some kind of Christmas withdrawal and was cranky all day.

Good morning! I'm so slammed at work. I'm doing another woman's work while she's on vacation. Then someone else brought me some of HER work to do. I'm goign to be staying late every day this week probably, with just my work. I don't knwo hwo to get everyone elses work done too. Everyone is feelign the crunch cause we have to be totally caught up by Thursday. Arg.

TR. That is truly awful, I'm so sorry.

I also missed the vents/confession thread yesterday so I'm putting mine here. My sister got me a Virginia shaped cutting board the size of, well, Virginia. I'm PIPing it. I guess I could use it as a self-defense weapon since it's rather pointy at the end. And her order got messed up, so yesterday they delivered a 2nd one. Anyone want one?

Speaking of our Christmas vents... I ended up calling MIL yesterday about the stolen sweater. She thought it was hilarious. At the time, she was heading to Grandma's for something so she said she would get it back for me. Hehe.

Ok, I just looked at flights from Santiago to La Paz, Bolivia for a weekend in February to potentially go when some friends are there and H is gone. It's really not that far, both are major cities, this should not be hard. But no, the only option is a flight that has 2 stops and gets in at 3:40am and then one that comes back on the Sunday at 4am. So basically I can fly to La Paz for 24 hours. Nevermind.

Yeah, I tend to get the shaft where my dad's family is concerned.  I guess because my parents divorced?  One of my aunts passed away a couple of years ago and left money to my brother & sister and two cousins (who are brothers) and me?  Nada.  The reason?  The money was for college and I'd already graduated.  With loans and working two jobs to pay for it, mind you, but who cares about that.  I have one great aunt on that side that I'm really close to, I visit her once a week in the nursing home (since no one else can be bothered) and once she's gone, I doubt I'll have much contact with that side of the family.

Hate to be morbid, but maybe she'll leave you everything from her and your siblings and cousins will get nothing. Since you made the effort and all.

LVB - she had an insurance policy that I was the beneficiary on, but my grandmother said they had to cash it in so she could qualify for Medicaid (Medicare?  I always get them confused) when she moved into assisted living.  I am supposed to get her engagement ring that her and my great uncle added little chip diamonds to over the years and I've always loved it.  I don't know that that's written down anywhere though, so really you never know.

Throwing knives TR? Was that on her Christmas list? If so I would be seriously concerned. lol

Manda maybe TR's sister would like your second VA shaped cutting board. She can either use it to throw or hang it on the wall to practice throwing her knives at it.

Seriously though TR, I'm with Fishy, you got hosed. I've seen you mention your great aunt a couple of times and I'm glad you're close with her and visit her. My mom was in a nursing home for 15 years and her sister's never visited her once she went in. it was really sad.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the deal is with the throwing knives.  Apparently my brother got some too.  Maybe they're going to practice on each other.

TR I think the throwing knives also win the "most inappropriate gift" category. However, my sister comes in second place with a snowmobile for her 5 year old. I thought I had a picture I could PIP of that, but I don't. BOO!

I'm at work, but only because it's less hectic than my house right now.  I didn't have to come in, but the house next to me is doing renovations and I can't think to work at home.
