Weird Confessions

Re: Weird Confessions

  • When I was little I was afraid of large trucks and construction vehicles. We lived near the town parking lot where they stored snow plows and my mom couldn't walk by there with me because I would flip out. Yet my brother used to LOVE watching the garbage truck come.

  • Along with the synesthesia thing, once I realized what it was, my childhood obsession with certain movies made more sense. When I would watch Sleeping Beauty, I concentrated heavily on the vividness of the different colors of the fairies, and of the ever changing princess dress. I was almost obsessed with how pleasing it was to see the distinct colors on each fairy/on the dress. I focused a lot on just that part of the movie.

I also loved watching Alvin & the Chipmunks because both the girl & boys had their own color and it made me immensely happy. I can't explain it, but still to this day, I get really happy & focused on how they are all a vivid different color.
I am also an armpit sniffer.  But only my H's.  Not random strangers'.  Now if someone confesses THAT, I'll be sufficiently shocked. <strong>For the people afraid of fish, I've been standing in the ocean and a school of fish swam by and one jumped out of the water, slapped me in the face and went back down.  I was stunned for a moment and then laughed so hard I almost drowned.
I love ghost shows, but can not watch ghost shows. If I watch a ghost show I will become engrossed, but later I will turn on every light in the house and sleep with the panic button on my nightstand. And by 'sleep' I mean lie awake all night thinking every sound in the house is a ghost of some kind or another. Unless it is bedtime I am not generally afraid of ghosts. I also just got overly excited when I found a peanut M&M that had rolled onto my notebook. I thought they were all gone! I guess that's not really a confession, who wouldn't be excited about an extra M&M? But I can confess to eating the whole bag of M&Ms even though I'm allergic to chocolate.

Making fun of people on ghost shows is one of mine and H's very favorite passtimes. Like the people that do the testing/research on Paranormal State and Ghost Lab. They're all so douchey. Those people are too goofy for the subject matter to scare me.

<div>I just think of them as colors. They are all black in my head, like I'm reading from a book, but when someone just says the number 5, I think of purple things, like the purple dresses my bridesmaids wore. When someone say the number 4, I think of the ocean. </div><div>

  • I can't stand fish either. I think they are creepy even to look at. We had friends who had them in their centerpieces for the wedding, and I had to put all of our menus up around them so I didn't see them swimming around while I ate.
I am also scared to swim anywhere with fish..even lakes. FI loves watching River Monsters and all these other shows about fresh water monsters that have been known to pull people under or whatever....made me even more petrified...

I never refrigerate my lunches. I always push the limits of how long food can be left out of the fridge and eat things way past their expiration date.

I also hate seeing other people brush their teeth, and letting people see me brush my teeth.

I used to have a ritual for eating plain chocolate M&M's.  I would take two of them and squish them together.  The first one to crackt would "lose" and get eaten.  The one would live to right another round.

Oh, and the M&M tournament brackets were always ordered by color, with the tans one last.  I miss the tan ones; they were my favorite.

I had an incident with a goliath beetle in the Kruger Park in South African this past October. You would have died. Literally.

  • I hate things on the bottom of my feet.  Little 5 foot me can't sleep on the couch because my feet always touch the armrest.  I also have to completely rip all blankets from the bottom of the bed and push them over to FI's side so they can't touch my feet.  Sometimes FI will stick his feet under mine when he's asleep and I freak out.
    image
  • Cotton balls really creep me out too.

And moths are terrifying. Worse than other bugs because their flight pattern is random, so you can't predict where they'll go.

I hear them and then I do this weird full body cringe and start shaking my arms and have to get away immediately.  Two people on the internet feeling this way means it's legit.
Another one - Anyone touching my feet makes me extremely anxious. They're very ticklish. When getting a pedicure I have to repeat "they aren't going to tickle you. Its okay." in my head over and over again while taking deep breaths. H learned the hard way that tickling my feet is a bad idea. Almost immediately I start hysterically crying, shaking and will do anything to get away from the person tickling me. I have no idea why I'm like this. Even typing it out is making me anxious.
    Posted by lovethebeach16
Oh me too. Except I don't get pedicures. I can't let people touch my feet at all. Feet don't bother me in general, and I'm ok with other people's feet, it's just that no one is allowed to touch mine.
  • I can't stand other people touching me with their bare feet. It literally makes my stomach turn. As long as the person is wearing socks I'm fine, but I'll freak if a naked foot touches any part of me.

  • Hahah, celles, I did the same thing - crushing the M&Ms.  Rarely did one make it two rounds, but it was quite a victory if it did.

I forgot about the tan ones.

Me too! I always use the smell test. If it doesn't smell too funky to eat, I'm eating it, no matter what the date is. On the other side of that coin is that I've gotten milk that's going bad WAY before the expiration date. So I ALWAYS smell the milk before I pour any. Even if I bought it the day before. I also drink milk straight from the carton every.single.day.

  • I nearly choked laughing at TR's fish slap story. Where is a videocamera when you need one?

LC I KNOW they're douchey. I KNOW. And I'll laugh and watch and mock, espeically that guy on Travel Channel with the douchlord hair. And then. Then it's bedtime. And suddenly my house is FULL of ghost who want to... what? I don't know. Startle me really bad? It makes no sense, I know. In the same line of thought, I can't watch or read anything about alien abductions. Same thing. Except I saw the movie Paul and really liked it.
