Indeed I do. My neighbor is a middle school band teacher and she's taking her kids sometime soon. I've contemplated hiding on the bus. I just want to BE there again. I don't have to do anything! Well, I would have to drink butterbeer, but otherwise, I could just sit in Hogsmeade and be happy!
  • GEORGIA did I tell you the worst storry EVER?? Mr. P is going to Orlando for a conference I think next week. The other day he says to me "Those hotels at Universal are so expensive"  I said "OMG , are you staying at Universal??" He said "No, but I looked at the hotels because I thought it would be nice to fly you down for the weekend and you could go to HP World again. But it was too much money."

OMG THEN WHY ARE YOU TELLING ME THIS? He didn't understand why I would be so upset. DON'T TEASE ME.

  • I threw an absolute fit, I am slightly ashamed to admit. Then he said "Well it's not like you can go on any of the rides anyway."  Oh yeah? OH YEAH? Watch me! I'd totes go on the Hogwarts ride. The Dementor isn't going to eat my baby.

  • Epic fail, Mr. Panda.

    *snort* Awesome.
  • I have a Muggle shirt. I wear it proudly all the time. It was fuckexpensive because I got it at the HP Exhibition when it was in Toronto, but SO worth it.

  • Even if I absolutely couldn't ride the rides, I could sit in mother-effing Hogsmeade all day and drink butterbeer.  I think I'm still pissed about this. It was, as babestate says, an EPIC fail.
  • I haven't been to the HP Exhibition. Everyone says it's worth it. It's in NYC right now. Hmmmm...

There's other stuff to do at Universal. Tell him he can also ride the Hulk roller coaster to feel more like a man.
  • I see your HP costume and raise you a Ravenclaw tattoo. Your FI isn't into HP? ... You sure you want to marry this guy? (I kid, I kid.)

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Weird Confessions : I used to totally do this until I figured out a trick.  Pretend you are sitting at the table.  The fork is on your left so ....LEFT!  I feel like a total spaz that I have to do this but it works.  And now my engagement ring is on my left.  Whoo hoo!  Another help for idiot me!

<div>I wish that would help. Thing is, I do know the difference, but there is something about the brain connection with it - if I don't pay attention, I will say the opposite of what I mean, even if I'm making a gesture. For example, I have physically turned the car right while telling FI that I am going left. There is a wire crossed up there somewhere!</div>

Sometimes it upsets me that FI wont read the HP books. He likes the movies, but refuses to read the books. He doesn't know what he's missing.
  • My H won't read the books either, because he "isn't a reader."  *sigh*  Maybe one day.

Ditto. I even told him he could skip right to PoA since it's more action-packed, but he refuses. Git.

This is my H too, and it's SO frustrating. He likes to read. He likes fantasy books. He would like HP if he would just read them! I think because he's just intimidated because there are 7 books, and he hasn't read any, so if he commits to one, he'll want to read all of them. *Sigh*

ETA: Then he asks questions about some of the movies, since they leave some stuff out. I refuse to answer, and I tell him if he wants to know that badly, he can read the books. So.annoying!
  • I feel bad for all of your FIs/husbands. And not in the way that cranky newbs do.
  • FI has read them all, and convinced me to read them, but if I go all fangirl on him, he gives me this amused, tolerant expression - at the very least.

This is what the interwebs are for.

<div>This is exactly FI's excuse.  He actually said "you could read them to me if you want?"....um no, there are 7 huge books. Me thinks not. </div>

I'm glad I'm not the only one! There are lots of books I want FI to read, because books are a big part of my life and I want to share them with him. But he refuses. And then talks about how he needs a hobby because he gets lonely when I'm reading. Reading something himself doesn't seem to be an option though.
  • Not liking HP would've been a deal-breaker.  My FI loves the books as much as I do and fully supports the fact that I often wear my Gryffindor scarf at completely random times.

It's fantastic.  You should go. I was sneaking (seriously 007 stuff) photos with my phone the whole time.

  • I also refuse to read Harry Potter.

Well, refuse is strong.  I won't read them.  I figure my future kids will want to read them and I'll do it then.
  • My H will also not read HP. I fill him in on all the details though because it bugs me that he doesn't fully understand what's going on. I can see his eyes glaze over though, but that's not gonna stop me from sharing!
