I wasn't quite sure where to post this particular question...I had posted on the "Invites and Paper" board and gotten no responses...so I'll try here
Yesterday I picked up my ceremony program mock-up from the graphic designer. In the wording draft I had previously given her, I had a section of the program stating, "Prior to the ceremony, the unity candle's light source is brought by
Laurie X, Groom's Mother and Nancy X, Bride's Aunt."
When I picked up my mock-up, I noticed the graphic designer changed it to "Prior to the ceremony, the unity candle's light source is brought to the altar by......." The problem is, my wedding is an outdoor garden wedding at a place called Goldmoor Inn, not a church wedding. Is it appropriate to use the phrase "to the altar" in this situation? I am thinking probably not. Also, does anyone have any better suggestions for wording for this than mine above? Thanks!!
