[QUOTE]I live in NC and LOVE the OBX.  Have not been there yet this year - need to get in the car and go, since we are only 2 hrs inland. I grew up in WA state, 2 hrs. from the Pacific coast.  Going back in August - cannot wait!

whaaaattttt say you Abbey??  Did I read that you only live 2 hours away?  Get your tiny-hiney in the car and get outta town and take a break.  We are going down tonight...come join us.  There will be wine & smores for all :)

Where in WA?  The FI is from Seattle and raves about us moving there all the time

  • Oh let me tell you about Jamaica!  Let me just telllllll you......

I loved it there. It is the most laid back place EVAR!  It's a complete 180 from what I'm used to. If you're high-strung and high-maintenance, don't go there lol - you will lose your mind. Everything is on "island time" - which means it takes FOREVER to get anything done. But if you're just going to relax and unwind, it's the perfect place. I stayed for a week, at the RIU in Montego Bay and it was AMAZING. I actually went w/out my H, with a big group of people. I'm a lay-on-the-beach type of person, and that is exactly what I did. I did a few excursions, but the only ones I recomment are going to Nine Mile (Bob Marley's childhod home) and going on the catamaran/snorkeling/Margaritaville excursion. I also went to visit Rose Hall plantation which is supposedly haunted, and I don't know if it is, but it creeped me the EFF out! (it was great!)
Where are you thinking about staying?

My kind of girl :)  That is why I love obx so much...its very laid back and relaxing.  My brother and his gf live in Carova, which is the most northern tip of the island, where it is 4x4 only and wild horses roam freely.  There are NO paved roads, NO stoplights and the closest store is a 20 min drive up the beach going 15mph or taking a boat back across the water to the mainland.

I would BUT........I bowl tonight in a league......5 more weeks after tonight and then I am done. After that I have 2 weekends free until the wedding.  I am feeling an OBX GTG sometime soon......anyone, anyone?

In WA, I was about 2 hours south of Seattle, on the WA/OR border.  Grew up in Ridgefield, a farming town.  It is awesome there - you need to go.  EDIT:  To WA, not Ridgefield - that sucks LOL.
    Anniversary

Ohhhh an obx GTG would be so much fun!  I love bowling...its one of the few sports that I am actually really good at and can beat the FI at too, which is always a perk for me b/c he kicks my asss at most sports

Note to self: do NOT go to Ridgefield, lol

  • MRS....I am leaving work now for the obx and will dip my toes in the water just for you.

    Cool - and YGPM.
  • How did this thread turn into the OBX and Mrs. BJ show? I'm not going to lie, I thought OBX was annoying when she tried to tell everyone how to post and I still think she's annoying because of the way she comes across in her posts. That's just MO though.

  • Oh and Ghoti I'm going to ditto the other ladies. I was starting to dig you every since you posted that info thread about you.

  • MRSBJS - I can't help it. I see your name. I assume you give lots of BJs.

I don't dislike OBX...but as someone said in AYG...chill it with the extra punctuation. YA HERD!??!?!?!??!?!??!?!

Thanks for the info MRS :)

Mkrupar--you and I have never really interacted much on these boards so I'm not sure where this is coming from?  I think it's a little harsh to say that I'm annoying when again, we haven't really interacted much to begin with.  To clarify, I have never tried to tell everyone how to post on the boards.  I have offered advice on lurking first before going all BSC but several of us have done that so I don't really see how that is annoying.

If you don't like my style that's fine, everyone is entitled to their opinion.
