One more question for the E-crew...

FI and I are having friends over for NYE... I know that themes for weddings is pretty frowned upon here, but what about "themed" parties? He and I tossed around the idea of a Hawaiian/beach "theme" for NYE, since our home is jokingly referred to as "the beach getaway" (there are beach touches throughout the house, plus a sunset/beach mural that FI did in our garage).

The reason I'm using quotation marks is because we wouldn't require/ask our friends to dress up or anything... we were just thinking of providing Hawaiian leis, having a fruity punch or something.


Gah, now that its all written out, I'm thinking it sounds kind of lame.

I think the small touches you've described are fine.
