Poli, I like Tess Gerritsen's books, particularly the Rizzoli and Isles series, but The Bone Garden was good, too. I have all the Patricia Cornwell books, though the earlier ones were better. Jefferson Bass is a writing team that includes Dr Bill Bass from the Body Farm. The writing isn't great, but I like the plots. Same with Karin Slaughter's books. The murder and cookies series is by Joanne Fluke.

You have to go over the line in one way or another. Typically insulting someone's appearance or threatening them or just generally pissing off a Mod with a quick banning finger will do it.
