In Response to Re: Confessions/irritations (rational or otherwise) or whatever... : I have the opposite issue; we got our gas bill last night and it is showing a credit of "cancelled charges" worth 100% of our last two bills.  So now I'm freaking out thinking they accidentally cancelled our account or something and our gas is going to be cut off any moment.  I realize worrying over them NOT charging us money is pretty silly, but it's how my brain works.

<div>That happened to me too only it was three months and change. I did the same thing. Had a minor freak out and called them first thing the next morning. They didn't check the meters at all in the winter and it was so mild, their average charge for winter was way over the actual usage. *phew*</div>
In Response to Re: Confessions/irritations (rational or otherwise) or whatever... : I would be worrying over that too, did you call them?
    Posted by mari0225
They were closed last night when I tried, and your post just now reminded me to do it - so thanks!

Just got off the phone, turns out they did an actual meter reading last week and had over-estimated our usage in April and May (can't blame them - we had some very unseasonably warm weather) so apparently they assumed we used more in two months than we actually used in three; hence the credits.  I feel much better now :-)

On an unrelated note this also reminded me I was going to call the Village building department for peace of mind that we couldn't possibly need a building permit to insulate our garage.  Turns out I was wrong, we need a $400 permit.  grrr

I am irrationally (or maybe it is rationally) irritated at my BIL, just about all the time.  Most recent case is that he paid for a friend of his roundtrip ticket from Texas to visit him because he ahd to keep up an "image".  Except, they don't have money for that and my sister already had to take out about 5k from her 401k to pay for their bills.  But he justifies that he can pay for the plane tickets because it was with HIS money that he somehow makes but he has no job and got off unemployment and refuses to watch his kids.  I am judging, but it pisses me off.

On the computer note, Stage you have much more patience than me.  I would have snapped right away at that. When someone looks at my computer or notebook or whatever, I feel like they are judging hardcore whatever I am doing.

  • I am irritated because FI and I are going camping this weekend, we booked the trip back in January and now all of the sudden Fi's stoner brother and GF are coming along. Not only are they picthing their tent on OUR site but they decided they would just be able to use OUR canoe we rented MONTHS ago for half of the weekend. WTH people??? I was looking forward to a nice relzxing weekend just me and my FI and our dog... You could have at least asked before assuming you were invited.

RRW - how did they invite themselves along in such a way that you couldn't tell them no?

  • That sucks Mica.  Shiiit's hitting the fan with my mom's work too.  Healthcare is getting fucked all over the place.
In Response to Re: Confessions/irritations (rational or otherwise) or whatever... : I work at a university.  So, I have students in and out all day just because they're bored or whatever and 2 very nosey coworkers.  One walks in and says "are you on Facebook?" every damn day.  Ironically, I admin 3 FB pages for the department and am a contributor for our college page, so even if I AM on FB, it's like a fifith of my job to be.  It drives me batshit.

Yes they did, and they think its perfectly okay.  I am a little worried we are going to a family friendly park that is highly patrolled by the local police and the only hobbies of the 2 who are now coming along with us are drinking vodka straight until they pass out and smoking pot. If they get us kicked off our site I am going to flip, FI and I have been looking forward to this trip for MONTHS!
  • Aw Mica, I hope everything is ok.

Confession: I want to leave work to take a nap. That's not so bad, except that I am seriously considering it.
I'm irritated that I can't find a decent mechanic for my car.  We keep taking it to this local place, and they can't seem to do a damn thing right with my car.  Originally, it was for more complicated issues, which we eventually had to take the car to a dealership to fix.  We let them do the brakes on the car (that's supposed to be one of their "specialties", and hell, I've done brakes on a car before), and now, while the brakes work, they are noisy and feel odd.  We have to take the car back, again, to let them finish the damn job.
    Posted by Holly4212011
Wow that's just ridiculous, brakes aren't even that hard!

  • I'm irrationally irritated that the mom I work for hasn't found a new job yet. She's trying her hardest, which is why it's irrational. I'm just bummed that I may end up having to move on. I visited them today and she has interviews and is pretty close to being hired at one place, but then she has vacations scheduled for the second and last week of July, so I feel like it would be pointless for her to start before August and I know I can't wait that long.

  • Angel - have you been looking?
  • I wasnt there when it happened but apparently FI was at his mothers place while his brother was there. FI brought up the camping trip then his brother went off saying how it would be so much fun if he could go since his birthday was this past week, it would be like his birthday celebration, then his mother started agreeing and kind of put him on the spot. He should have said no then, but he didnt so now we are stuck with them...
