That is lame, Snippy. It's supposed to thunderstorm tomorrow and I'm really praying that it doesn't because I have tickets to the Twins game, and I REALLY don't want it to get rained out. I'll go if it just rains a bit, but I'd just like it to be a fluke in the forecast.

Fezz, in the summer, it will be a high of about 75.  If we're lucky.  You kind of need to have a sweater on hand no matter what.

IT's only in the low 60s here. Should be around 70 this week, which is fine for me. It means we don't have to use the heat or the AC so $$$ saved!

H is out getting bike gear. He bought a bike and wants to start riding 9 miles to work. i'm scared to death because drivers in this city barely know the traffic laws for cars, let alone bikes.

That's a long way to bike!  I'd be exhausted.  But I'm also out of shape.  I'd be worried too, Mery.  Are there less crowded side streets he can cut through to stay off of main roads?

9 miles is a long way. I couldn't do that. Plus all the crap I take with me to work everyday would make it even more difficult.

Yes, he would start off for about 3-4 miles on a main road, then cut across on a less trafficked short cut, though it intersects some major streets and I'm afraid of the intersections, too. Then he can hop on a bike trail for the last mile or two and come up right near his office. I definitely worry in the dark in the winter, though.

He's actually not in great shape and I don't know how feasible 5 days a week! If we lived closer to the beach where bike culture is normal. I wouldn't worry as much.

I'm SUPPOSSED to be packing up the apartment and/or doing homework, but I just discovered Sidereels, so I'm watching the entire season of Bones that I thought I was going to have to wait for. I had a meeting with our day-of coordinator today, and she had the most adorable patio set for sale-bright turquoise glass top table w/ 4 turquoise chairs. The chair pads were black and white stripes....I'm trying to convince Rick that we NEED it for our new balcony

About 30 miles, which is anywhere from 40-120 minutes, give or take the traffic!

I really wish this city was more bike friendly. They're trying to implement a bike plan. There's actually a big ride on Sunday H is doing where the streets will be partially shut down. The mayor was riding a bike last year, got side-swiped by a car, and fractured his elbow. *headdesk* Technically he can ride on the sidewalk, though. Although not all of the LA sidewalks are in great condition.

Awesome! Keep me posted. I have a friend who lives down there, so I'm fairly familiar with the area. Week nights are tough to make it down, but my weekends in July are pretty free.

True. Also, I once got hit by someone riding a bike on a siewalk. Which is still better than gettng hit by a car.

I'm sitting at home watching the Sounders match instead of being at the match. It's not the same. I want to be at the match but I knew I would get to tired if I tried to go. So we gave our tickets to my dad. I made homemade rice krispies treats and am about to indulge in those.
