Ha! I was watching a rerun of Entourage last night when Drama and Turtle told Eric his ex girlfriend was seen making out with Vince Vaughn. My friend and I made faces. <- like this

Kind of like how you'd change your mind if you ever had a fat kid? Every kid isn't genetically engineered to be a stick.

  • Baystate, locked-in syndrome is also one of my irrational fears (of which I have many). Any condition where I didn't have control over my body/life would freak me out.

Actually, it's more like apples and oranges.

I'm not genetically engineered to be a stick - both of my parents are overweight and have been for as long as I can remember. But I eat healthy and get a lot of exercise, and I'll make sure that my kids do, too.

I have a good friend that's disabled, and she's pretty damn happy with her life. Then again, she couldn't help what happened to her. You can, however, control your weight (and if you're a parent, you can control your child's weight).

So no, not the same thing at all.

I read an article online the other day about a woman who was awake and alert for six years before doctors realized she wasn't just comatose. She had locked-in syndrome. I cannot imagine what that is like. I hope I never find out.

Just because your parents are overweight doesn't mean you're "pre-disposed" to be heavy. There are people who are genetically hindered in trying to lose weight. So get off your high horse.

You're still wrong. My SIL has a brain tumor that's pressing on her pituitary gland and that causes her to be overweight. She didn't ask for that to happen to her and she can't do a damn thing to change it. Take your high and mighty-ness somewhere else please.

OMG, that's horrible. Is it malignant? Are they doing anything at all to try and get rid of it? Your poor SIL.

So you're going to force your kids to exercise to stay thin? Wanting active healthy kids is one thing, but you make it sound like you'll "make sure" they never gain weight, which will definitely screw them up.
