Saturday!

It's 530 am and FI is already being a jacknut. He won't get home from work till around 2 either, so by that time I won't feel like going off on him anymore. It's gonna be a long flipping day.

Other than that, have church with the FIL's this morning. Then need to come do the yardwork and finally bathe the dogs. Probably save the baths for FI though since he wanted to be a butt. :) We have his daughter and 10 month old nephew tonight as well. I can't wait to play with them!

Re: Saturday!

  • Ugh that's annoying-ish.. when you wanna be peeved but then time passes and you're already over it, lol

Yay bath time & play time with the little ones!

  • Good morning. FI woke up in the middle of the night with the flu, so today will be spent babying him, lysol-ing everything in sight, and unpacking the new apartment. We had tickets to see Cirque do Soleil tonight, but obviously that won't be happening.
  • Good morning.  I'm eating some breakfast (yay homemade banana bread) before a friend comes over.  She's helping me resurface and repaint my old bookshelf.  Though I don't know how much help I'm going to be with my ribs feeling like crap.  I told her and she said it wouldn't be a problem though, so here's hoping.

  • Bay, I saw your FB post-I'm so glad you're ok! Rick always whines about wearing a helmet when we go on bike rides, so I pointed it out to him last night and said "SEE???"
  • Morning. Hanging outi in Dallas. Everyone else is snoring away, so I thought I would hop on TK. Last night we met up with so of our friend's friends. I was by far the oldest. One girl (gf of the friends friend) was boohooing because she is *almost* 25 (turns it in the fall) and she is not married or pregnant yet. Like she is so upset about that fact she is planning a kick-ass party to help her get over it. She began to tell me she has to moving things along because she is getting old and her BF is 35 and no one in his family makes it out of their 60's. If she keeps worrying about the future she is going to miss the present. On DH's job hunt. He is Phoenix first choice. They have one more tasting, but it appears this guy really has to blow away DH to get the job. While at dinner with the GM the first night the GM mentioned he liked pizza. The next day DH made pizza as part of his tasting. Now they have no dough, no sauce, no screen , no paddle or most importuning no pizza oven. DH had to get creative. They were impressed at his creativity. I guess the other chef never left the office. **. Note on iPad sorry for typos.

  • LOL Jill!  I'm glad you showed him.  I know bike helmets are cumbersome and make everyone look stupid, but if I hadn't been wearing one that would have REALLY sucked.  Tell him to suck it up and wear one!

That's great! I have missed a lot the last few days. What happened in NOLA? Did he pass on that one?

  • Good morning! I'm in the salon chair getting my awful jfair fixed. Then I'm going to make H take me to breakfast. I think we'll buy a a newspaper and go look at rental houses.

  • Morning!!! So H and I are planning to go help build a "wall of love" around a marine's funeral today that the Westboro Baptist Church is coming to protest. The church has asked that people come and just encircle the parking lot so the WBC folk can't get too close to the family. I feel like it's a pretty good use of a Saturday. Anyone wanna help me come up with a funny sign?

I would love to go be part of the wall. I'm now in thought process for a funny sign. :)

  • He is still interveiwing with NOLA. They have been moving slower than Phoenix. I think he will just take Phoenix if the money is right. He liked the GM and all the staff members he met. I'm getting use to the idea. I need to look for a job. I think just part-time just so I can have time off to travel like we want to do.

  • Morning.

H and I woke up to the phone ringing. A friend of his from work wants to know if we want to go shooting in a bit with him. I really want to go, but also wanted to sleep in more.

And I am not sure if it is a cold coming on (summer colds are the worst) or allergies & congestion b/c now I have this annoying cough. At least I don't have a lot to do this week except wash my car and start packing this place up.
  • LDY - I don't have any creative ideas for a sign, but I just wanted to say that I think its awesome you and your H are doing that. There is a special place in hell for those WBC people.

Lynda - good luck to your H! Have fun in Arizona. It seems like there has been all sorts of good job news around here recently. I just wish some of it could move my husband's way.
  • Good morning everyone! Going to go teach in a little bit-- but not looking forward to it today just because it is dance competition for the older levels so the only classes I'm teaching are my little ones, and my teaching assistants will be gone at competition (they are dancers at the studio). Boo. I'm just hoping my little preschoolers aren't in crazy mode today because that isn't easy to control as one person. On the bright side, after work, J and I are going to go tour a few townhomes for rent! :)

  • morning ladies!  I'm about to head out for a 7 mile run and it's raining for the trillionth day... I guess that's what you get when you move here, but I feel like whining about it today anyway.  I want to get out of this 50 degree rainy slump we've been in.
  • Good morning!  I'm spending the day at Starbucks writing my dissertation.  I'll probably be popping in and out of here as I need breaks.

LDY- THANK YOU for doing that.  While the family will probably not say anything, I am sure it means a lot to them to bury their son/brother in peace.  You're my hero for the day.
  • Good morning!  FI and I are going to select rocks for our garden today.  My contribution will be hiding under my umbrella and pointing out which rock I want.

LDY, I think your plans for today are awesome.  Luckily, the dickheads haven't turned up in my town.  I'm so glad they weren't around for my Army friend's funeral.
  • Good morning!  I have to chaperone a Prom next weekend, so I'm going shopping for a dress for that later today.  The rest of the weekend the last of the research papers will be consuming my life.

  • I'm doing nothing today.  It's rainy and gross out.  I am going with my mom to take my brother's dog to hydrotherapy later, but that's about it.  I'm waiting to hear from H - he is either quitting his job today or getting fired.  We'll see which happens.  He is going back to his old job starting on Tuesday, which isn't really ideal, but whatever.
Missy - maybe the H job vibes will come both our way next :)

  • McKenna, are you a teacher?  What kind of dress are you going to get?
  • Good morning all,

It's so rainy here. Blahh. We have a very relaxed day planned today- (FINALLY) finishing up our registry, and doing a little bit more shopping. Then probably just hanging out tonight.

I got new glasses last night. I mostly wear my contacts, and these glasses are VERY different than my old ones, so they're pretty noticable. However no one is noticing them. I don't know if it's because they suit my face and no one notices, or if they don't like them and aren't saying anything about them... Haha, I hope it's the former...
  • Good morning everyone.
Were are not doing too much today. This afternoon we are going to prepare dinners to keep in our freezer. I don't like to cook, but if they are already prepared, I can do that.
  • SpecialK, yes, I teach 11th grade English.  I don't know what kind of dress.  Usually I wear a little black dress or something with a print, but we all decided it would be fun to go a little extra formal this year.

  • When H and I were downtown last night, we saw a whole bunch of kids dressed up for Prom. It is weird to me that Prom is this early. I don't remember mine being until early May. But of course schools in the north get out later than they do in the south.
  • You're better than me, I would hold onto that grudge until his ass got home.  Like it was a lifeboat and I was a Titanic passenger.

  • KJB, I must've missed something.  What is going on wiht your H's job?

No big plans here today.  Going to a two year old's birthday party tomorrow though.

Good morning. I'm home sick. I was in the ER for about 7 hours with severe ab pain yesterday :\ Luckily it wasn't my appendix like they first thought and I'm home now, but I have to go to the doctor this week to find out why my small intestine is inflamed. Ugh.

LDY - I agree with everyone that it's awesome what you're doing today! Good luck!

It depends where in the south. Here in VA they don't start until after labor day so they go until the third week of June. We used to start the third week in August and were out the 2nd week of June. That was in Cleveland.

Charleston starts like the first week of August and are done by Memorial Day. I think Texas is the same.

Our prom wasn't until after the seniors were done with class. The seniors would have finals a weeks before the rest of the classes, and that Friday or Saturday night was Prom, then we all went to Cedar Point the next day. Senior Breakfast was the next Tuesday followed by the senior awards ceremony, then practice for graduation was the following day, and graduation the next.

  • Oh and we're just babysitting our niece (and now our nephew, but he's 11, doesn't need much babysitting). She's napping on the couch and I'm hoping she'll be out for another hour or so.

  • In Michigan, it's been state law for a few years now that schools can't go back until after Labor Day.   This was supposed to help tourism.  This is weird to me, because the school year is the same length whether it starts in August and gets out by Memorial Day or starts after Labor Day and get out in mid/late June.  It's the same number of days.  I don't get it.
