Alcohol dilemma

Re: Alcohol dilemma

  • As someone who used to have a terrible fear of vomit/vomiting, etc, I understand where you are coming from.  Yes, it is irrational, but that is beside the point because to the person with the phobia, it is very real.

Even though I have gotten over the worst part of my fear, I still have some issues.  I don't like to be around a lot of drunk people (particularly in an unfamiliar place) and I don't like to use public restrooms in places where there are a lot of drunk people.  If I hear someone so much as coughing in a public restroom while I am using it, I plug my ears and get out as quick as possible.

Our venue will not serve you if they feel you have had too much.  They also will not serve shots.  Most of our guests are very seasoned drinkers and I don't foresee puke on the dance floor.  Our caterer is top-notch and I'm sure knows how to deal with this situation if it does occur though!

For what its worth, I'm a nurse now and I can deal with vomit in the work place, but still struggle with it outside of work.  Bizarre, right?
