Sarah I've watched DWTS in the past, but I didn't watch at all this year because I had no interest at all in their "stars." I didn't hear nearly as much talk about it this season, so I wonder if they had bad ratings. Either way, I think it's on too much. It's not even once a year, i think it's twice a year.
Posted by dnbeach12
It was a weird season. They had two actual stars in Ralph Macchio and Kirstie Alley, but the rest of the "stars" were complete nobodies, and there were no real standout dancers. Ralph was good, but the judges hated him all season for some reason, while at the same time praising Hines Ward to the skies even though he isn't that great. And then Hines won. Yawn.
I definitely think Lauren could still have a career. But I am a little sad that her "single" will never be released. I actually thought it was a really good song, and probably the best single AI has put together. I thought Scotty's was lame, but before Lauren's I thought every Idol single ever has been lame. Did anyone watch the Bachelorette? I'm not a big Ashley fan to begin with, so I don't know if I can handle the whole season of her. Batman is just creepy. And when they show her sobbing in her bed later in the season about Bentley I just called her an idiot because she was definitely warned about him.
Posted by dnbeach12
I thought the same thing. I've only watched the first half of the episode but the mask dude is weird. And I get what she was saying about giving everyone (Bentley) the benefit of the doubt, or at least I get why producers want her to say that, but it's actually pretty stupid. And she sounded really shallow when she wouldn't stop talking about how hot he was would make a difference as to whether or not she would give him a chance. Plus, I totally think it was crazy Michelle who told her about it. She and Bentley are both from SLC.
• Paul, Casey and Pia were my favorites from the beginning. Then Pia got too boring, and Haley definitely grew on me.

Casey was freaky when he sang Nirvana, and luckily they learned not to put yellow lighting on him anymore.

I was not a fan of James Durbin. I think it was his tail.

Ahh, makes sense. Looks like crazy Michelle is right about this.
• Anna I googled to see who sent it, and everything I found said that it was Michelle. I guess she is friends with Bentley's ex.

I actually only watched the second half of the show because i missed the first hour. Bentley is such an asshat, making comments like "it's not like she is Emily" or "I'm not even attracted to her."

I just hated that they were hailing James as this amazing super unique voice when he was a watered down Adam Lambert who was actually MORE annoying. My opinion of course but it also really bothered me when he was eliminated and he was like, 'I've brought so much to Idol that has never been done before" ..... I wanted to smack him because he just took from Glambert and didn't do it as well. /end rant.

Yeah DNB, I saw clips of Bentley talking about Emily and it was seriously creepy.

And his daughter's name is Cozy, which is weird.
• Haha Anna I know, and when he said her name Dingdong said "I LOVE that name." I would have said "like the thing you put on a beer bottle?"

• I think I had no interest since I pretty much hate Jlo. When I went to yahoo to see the news it looked like she performed last night on Idol? And I can swear I saw her perform another time this season. She just seems like such an AW to me. :/
• I agree, odd name. I'm sure Ashley was just being fake and actually hated it.

If the rumors are true that Bentley only came on the show to promote his business, it's not working too well yet because I have no clue what he does.

Yeah I wasn't the biggest Adam Lambert fan (and totally loved Kris Allen *heart flutter*) either but it bothered me so much that this James guy was praised as much as Adam was when he sang super boring choices and didn't even try to be innovative with the vocal range he had. Just went to "the scream" when he needed to.
image
• Exactly MS. I'll at least give Adam the credit that he took some songs and completely changed them and turned them into some awesome vocals. James was boring, and would just throw in random shrills.

• I'm getting all worked up now, thinking about Idol. haha. Geez my head is killing me. Also, I've had a really ridiculously painful canker sore for a week now. Any secret home remedies for those?

• I love JLo. There's no good reason for it, but I love every single thing about her. If there's a JLo movie on TBS, my day is on hold until it's over. God, Shan, I feel like I don't even KNOW you.

In random reality TV related news: Tyra Banks announced there will never be another "normal" cycle of ANTM again. I don't really know what that's supposed to mean, but I'm pretty sure I'm upset about it.
• No, sorry. I hate canker sores they are ridiculously painful. Just some orajel is my only suggestion.
imageBabyFruit Ticker
• Yeah I have been using orajel, and it numbs it temporarily but that's it. It is right on the inside of my bottom lip so I can't eat anything or even purse my lips to kiss J without wanting to cry.

I have one too, I haaate them. H always tells me to put salt on them to dry them out. I've tried it a few times and it's worked ok. The numbing stuff does nothing for me.

I love JLo too, for no reason. I also think she is unbelievably gorgeous and I want her hair, so I might be a creepy stalker too.

Yeah I've heard salt/salt water works well but it hasn't for me so far. I work next to this older lady, probably in her mid to late 60s and yesterday I asked if she had any suggestions. She first recommended celery (which the texture makes me gag so that is out). Then, she leaned over and whispered, "Also, I don't know if you know this, but oral sex is bad when you have a canker sore." ...Um, thanks, but DUH. It was also hilariously awkward because it felt like my grandma was telling me that.
In Response to Re: Idol anyone? Or anything NWR to talk about? PLEASE?! : That is my FAVORITE show. I love that it is on during the summer (minus that one random season) because then no other shows get in the way of it for me.

Ditto. I am super excited for tonight!
• Celery? What good will that do? I've asked my doctor about them in the past and they don't have any good/working suggestions either.
• I have no idea what celery does but this lady seemed really convinced. She is also a little "off" though so not sure if I should take her suggestions, hah.

So ya, consider my thoughts to be the exact same as hers. Who's creepy now?

• Oh GROSS, Musical (the grandma part). BLEH.

There's some stuff at CVS called Canka that works really well. It stings like crazy when applying it but then it numbs it down and supposedly helps it heal. I don't know if it sped up the healing process any, but it definitely made me cut down on the "tonguing it" part.

• Ugh. I just found out that my sister that I can't stand is going to the parade I'm taking Jocelyn to on Saturday. I can't stand being around her and pretending to make small talk. She's so annoying. Just the sound of her voice makes me want to punch things. And I bet she'll be drunk.

Salt water for canker sores. Do it as often as you can. I had one this week that I kept putting off salt water and once I did it like 5 times in one day it was so much better the next day.
• Yes, that canka stuff too. It coats it with like a white film, it's really weird but works great.
