[QUOTE]Shoooot - I have to miss supper club this month because we're going to visit my parents in TX the same day. I feel like August is going to be the busiest month since like, our wedding. Anyone else feel that way?

</div><div>I do.  It's the 8th ALREADY!  School for the kids and myself starts on the 27th.  I haven't even started clothes shopping for them, yet.  I'm usually done by this time.  Of course I wasn't a full time student myself at this time last year, so I had more time.</div>
  • Starbucks! I'm trying to cut back on my Starbucks habit because it's expensive. I'm down to going only once a week so I'm going to consider that progress. I was going between 3-5 times a week. It was bad.
  • Yes August is gonna be busy. But mainly because I start class a week from tomorrow. Wah Wah. That plus working part time will keep me very busy until I graduate, pretty much.

  • Is this your last year of school, Musu?

  • Glo, my WW goes to caribou every single morning and her drink is always at least 5 bucks. That's 100 bucks a month on coffee! She loves it though so whatever... I just don't get why the free office coffee isnt good enough. I don't drink coffee though, so there's that.

  • August is busy for me too. But mostly because I'm squeezing in a few day trips on the weekends to feel like I did something this summer. This weekend I'm going to see my parents and next weekend I'm finally going to the beach.
  • Yep, last year EVAR of my life. I am so so ready.

  • The free coffee here is absolutely disgusting.  Man that stuff is bad.

  • Musu, sounds like she should invest in some flavored syrup at home. I don't like plain coffee so I use chocolate milk or vanilla soy milk instead of creamers.
  • The coffee here is donated by the attorneys... They sign up to bring a new bag of coffee in every other week or whatever. Usually its Starbucks or Caribou brand anyway so it's definitely not generic crap.

Mmmmm starbucks.  I had to cut back too; I only get it on the weekends now.  During the week, I brew my own coffee on my Keruig at home.  The Keruig is good...just not starbucks good but my wallet cannot afford Starbucks every day.

So, I have mini-vent wrapped in a question wrapped in an enigma.  For the ladies that have changed their last name, did you find it took a while for the new name to catch on?  I understand that I went by a different name for 7 years at my job but I am not the first person in the history of ever to change their last name so I really didn't expect this much confusion.  Especially since HR sends out a company wide email anouncing name changes when they go into effect.  Apprently no one reads those though because I've had people complain to me that they couldn't find me on the directory because they didn't know about the name change, I've gotten a mash up of the old and new name, and just now I got an email from someone who was referred to me by another department and they hyphenated my name.  I guess the employee who referred them to me gave them both the old and new names so they have now been combined.  I normally don't get all twisted about someone butchering my name but this is kind of getting annoying.

  • August seems to be the first month that is not busy since our wedding.  I'll take it though.

We have a Keurig, and although it's not the cheapest we could do, it definitely has cut down on trips to Starbucks.  The only time I will go now, is around the holidays when they come out with their Caramel Brule' latté...sooo good.
  • That's weird, Cali.  I didn't have any issues with people recognizing my new last name.  For a while my emails were signed Name Last Name (Formerly Old Last Name), but other than that it was pretty seamless.

  • Calix, people were calling me by my new name at work immediately.  With my friends it took a little longer to catch on.  Someone told me she almost accidentally deleted me because she saw my name and thought "I don't know a Megan B*********."

I'd write them an email clearly indicating my new name.  It's ridiculous that they're butchering it like that.

  • Morning!  I love peppermint hot chocolate from Starbucks. Yum.

Calix-  Mine has only been a few weeks, but I've been having some things come up with my name change, too.

This is a good idea.  I think I will add the formerly last name part to my email signature.  Hopefully that will clear up the confusion.

  • Cali - I found my name change at work to be pretty easy. They switched over my e-mail and all the computer stuff while I was out for the HM, so I came back and it was done. But, I also work in a small office of about 40 people, so everyone knew I was getting married and they can search my first name in the directory if they didn't know my last name.

A couple people got confused when I sent them e-mails under my new name, but it didn't take long.

We have a Keurig, but I don't use it. H loves it, though I have no idea if it's cut down on his Starbucks trips. I think so? My one gripe with the Keurig is the little cups since they're wasteful, but we did get the "My K-Cup" thing where you can use your own grounds. I just haven't gotten H onto using it yet. Since I don't drink coffee, I don't really have input there.

I'm really thinking I want to do a CSA/produce delivery. There's a local CSA in Detroit, but it's nearly over for the season and it seems like it's mostly greens anyway. Or I could do Door to Door Organics that has some more variety. I'm just afraid I'd waste the produce and I also feel like it's kinda pricey. Then again, I barely buy produce now so that's probably why the cost seems so high. Perhaps having it delivered to me would force me to eat more.

Had to duck out for a few...

I love the frapees from SB, but my waistline doesn't...even the skinny ones.

I learned how to make their green tea lemonade because I got hooked on those last summer.  FI rightfully biiitched about my $4.10 a day green tea lemonade habit, so I learned how to make it at home.  Much more reasonable price per serving.

ETA: I just got an email that my seeds have shipped!!!!  I'm so excited.
  • Thanks everyone, and yes I'm super excited to have him home!

I still get called by my maiden name sometimes when we are home and its people who have known me forever as maiden name, and we've been married for over 2 years.  But I'm also guilty of doing it too with my friends.  It even took me a while before I stopped accidentally signing my miaden name on things.

  • Yeah since I am still in school and just started my job in June, I haven't had issues at work. But i still don't recognize it as my name and it seems very foreign to me, which makes me sad. I wonder how long it will be til it feels like "mine".

  • I used to feel like that too MuSu.  But then it literally happened out of nowhere that I was like, ok this is my name, and now my maiden name sounds funny.
    imageBabyFruit Ticker
  • Yeah I hope it happens sooner rather than later. I am tired of being conflicted about my own name.

  • I know, Fezz!  I can't wait.  My boss keeps trying to get me to do her expense reports one last time, but I'm going to try and put that off as long as possible.  I really hate those things.

My new last name felt like mine almost immediately.  I think I've accidentally signed my old last name maybe once.

  • I haven't had many issues with people calling me by my maiden or a mash-up of both. I have been being proactive though and signing e-mails to people I either never see or only communicate with on occasion with Jessica (formerally maidenname). I didn't feel like dealing with the "Well I can't give you that information because I've been dealing with so-and-so, not you". (Which would really happen with a lot of the people I deal with outside the company)
  • I am exhausted today.  Two cups of coffee later and I still want to go back to bed.  I think I'll get H to take a nap with me when he gets home.  However he will probably assume thats code for sex.
