Re: Thursday night

  • Poor Mr. J&K.  How long did it take you to get to the "in October" part to clue him in?

I liked the matroyska doll comment too.

  • My dog is pestering me to go out. We have new neighbors who have dogs, and he apparently has made a new fence running buddy.

It's so cute!  He has his paw on my arm and is looking at me with his puppy eyes.
  • I've met Nuggs IRL. She is a damn fine black woman, let me tell you what. Freakin' gorgeous.

Uh....probably about 5-10 more minutes.  He just stood there staring at me, which made me cry harder.

    I was a fuuucking disaster.

  • I just talked to my mom and apparently my dad has to have knee surgery and will be in a wheel chair with his leg straight out for 8 weeks following the surgery. He is not going to be happy about that, and I know my mom isn't looking forward to being his chauffer. I feel bad for them, and I feel bad that I can't help very much :(

</div><div>He's a big one...almost 2 years old, tall and skinny...he eats like a St. Bernard and you can still count his ribs. It really worried me at first but the Vet says he's just a tall drink of water.  This makes him clumsy..he trips over his feet all the time. It's cute, because he gets this Awww shiiiit, again? look on his face.</div>
  • Aww I'm sorry to hear that Leisel. That would really suck to have it stuck like that for 8 weeks, yikes. :(

Oh yes and Nuggs also is the best because she laughed at all my humor. So clearly this means I'm hilarious.

</div><div>There are a couple steps up to the doors, but any room he'd need to get to is on one level. They said he can use crutches to get up the steps, but he can't bend his leg at all, so that will still be tough. </div><div>
</div><div>I think he's more worried about getting around at work. He's a doctor and he's pretty much going to have to stand on his one good leg to do any surgeries, and he's worried about getting to patients quickly if there's an emergency - that's actually how he tore the ligaments, he was running down stairs to do a case and caught his heel on the last step. </div><div>
</div><div>And my mom already has trouble sleeping so she takes Ambien every night, but now won't be able to in case she needs to be alert to help him or get to him to the hospital if he needs to go in. </div><div>
    </div><div>Sorry for all my whining!

    </div>
  • Liesel - that stinks i hope he recovers quickly.  It is frustruating when you can't really help.
My dad's been in the hospital for almost 2 weeks now.  (he's been in the rehab/PT wing for the last week).  He has an auto-immune thing that affects his nerves mostly, but then he got shingles and his whole system went haywire and he ended up in the hospital.  Then he had back surgery due to a calcium growth on his spine that was pinching a nerve on top of the shingles debacle.  After all that he'd lost so much strength he couldn't get himself around so he's in PT 3 or 4 hours a day to rebuild his strength before he goes home.  It's been a mess.  And I can't be exposed to shingles while I'm pregnant, or help my mom with any lifting/moving that needs to be done, so even if I was close enough to help, I'm useless at the moment.

<div>Exactly. Kids. Not people old enough to actually be pregnant. </div>
  • Howdy yall.

Imma be that person and ask if we have any medical professionals on tonight?
  • J I have no pictures!!!!!! Only whats on the book of face. And I missed you.
  • Liesel - are they close enough you could maybe spend one night a week there so your mom can take an ambien and get a good night's sleep once a week?  Even if you don't actually DO much (does he get called out in the middle of the night regularly?) it might be enough of a break for her to make a big difference.
  • Loopy, I'm sorry. Sounds like it's been a rough two weeks.
