  • I have limited exposure to the Genius bar.

KB - if he sleeps all evening, won't he be up all night?

[QUOTE]Well, that's all the Taco Hell gone from my system. Now I'm hungry, but I'm sticking with some chicken noodle soup for sups tonight. I have a question for the vegetarians out there. I'm thinking of cutting meat out of my diet for a month or so, just to cleanse my system and see if I feel less sluggish and all. Should I wean off or go cold turkey? Also, where can I find recipes that will keep me properly nourished but also satisfied as to taste and variety? Are eggs okay but no fish?

<div>I don't know if you eat red meat now, but if you do and you stop, you will NOT feel good when you start to eat it again. Seriously, my parents went vegetarian while I was still living there, so I didn't have things like steak, roast, etc. for a year and now it makes me sick to my stomach.</div><div>
</div><div>And honestly, I hate tofu and soy so I'd probably stick with fish too, but that's a personal preference. I know my parents had to start eating seafood because there was almost nothing they could order when they went out to eat.</div>

He leaves for work at 3 AM now, so he'll actually only be getting 8 or 9 hours of sleep if I don't wake him up. We're used to going to bed around 10, but then he complains he only gets 5 or so hours of sleep.
  • It is pouring rain and sunny out.  WTF.

I saw a double rainbow on the way home.  WHAT DOES IT MEAN?!  (please someone get that)

  • I feel like making popcorn, but I dont want to pull out the popcorn maker and if I use the microwave it's going to be way too many calories. Uuuuuuugh.

DJ, why do y'all have such issues getting folks? Is the job market not terrible there?

Yeah this is the first time anything has happened with this MacBook and its been operating since 2008. A harddrive life for any laptop is average of 45 years so it's not unusual. My old MacBook was where I was at the genius bar more often because I spilled water on it once and then a huge box of books was dropped on it once when I was moving which effed up the CD drive. ETA: 4 to 5 years, damn tk mobile.

I don't get a double rainbow reference, but I read the "WHAT DOES IT MEAN?!" in Jack Skellington's voice from Nightmare Before Christmas...

I do eat red meat, but not often because of my cholesterol. I love a good filet though. I can't stand tofu, either, but adore soy milk and edimame.

I keep bags in the freezer. I just love popping them out of the shells and noshing!
  • Apparently the part time clerk in my division got his work visa approved so he is coming back tomorrow til December. The other clerk told us before she left that he is pretty terrible and that we should not ask him for help on anything. Which makes me laugh because he went to U which is a top 20 law school.

  • MuSu, I've noticed that sooo many people skate through schooling. I didn't think it was as possible in law/med school, but I mean, I personally could not tell you much of what I learned in college.

I know lots of people who "Have a degree" but didn't learn anything. I'm one of those people. hi.

  • Thank you Daff and Any for making me not crazy ;)

My MacBook is circa 2006 and still kicking without any issues (knock on wood).  I need to replace it because my OS is so old that I can no longer upgrade Firefox or Adobe, but I don't want to.  I love my little MacBook.

  • Why thank you Lizzie!

LDY, There are lots of classes I took that I retained nothing from. Or I retained something that was a random fact and will not help me at all in real life.
  • I steam the edimame in their shells, the sprinkle with kosher or sea salt and go to town. I also add it to pasta with a little butter. I add it to salads, too. Yum. It's so versatile!
