Help the hair illiterate today!

I didn't want to be an AW, thus the deletion of photos now the conversation has passed, but essentially the poll was about what I should do with my hair. Long waves or bob or something else.

  • both look gorgeous, so i voted for CHOP CHOP CHOP because change is always exciting and fun! you can always grow it back out if you miss it long.
  • I like the bob!

  • I voted leave it long, but that's only because I cut my nearly waist length hair off about a year ago and have missed it since the day my hairstylist chopped my 10 inch ponytail off and held it up like a prize. It was traumatizing.

  • I voted to chop it. :) Both styles look great on you, but the second seems more...sophisticated? So, if that's the look/feel you want, then go with that.

  • Do polls look different to anyone else, or is it just me?

and hmm, I gather I missed an 'l' in that first response- but presume you get that!

  • I vote CHOP because I'm in the mood to chop my hair too, Sarah-style.

  • You look so gorgeous with both...so Sarah's logic is good.  Chop and play!

  • hey it does look diff. I didnt even realize until you pointed it out
  • I voted long and wavy, because I love the natural tousled wave look.  I wish my hair would do that rather than just frizz out.  Mine has too much natural curl and it's all random.
  • I think the waves look soft and pretty around your face.  I voted leave it for this reason.

Okay I don't know how edgy you can go b/c of work of preference but this would look perfect on you and I have something like this when I cut my hair but my hair is kind of thick so it did not look as good.

Edit- not the hair color though, just the cut

  • I'm not sure what's going on with that link, ricks, but I clicked it and a big red 'forbidden' circle came up. I gather that's not a hair suggestion? haha.
  • Hahah let me PIP hold on...

  • Sun, I did ask to go that short. I just didn't expect the guy to find so much pleasure in chopping off all my hair. It was that second right after the snip that I knew I'd made a huge mistake. But yes, I asked for it.

  • This girl even looks like you to me!

  • That's me with a nose job! ;P

That is rather cool... I don't know if I could pull it off, though. I don't think I'm quite cool enough, and I think that lack of symmetry could get the better of me!

What websites do you use for hair inspiration? I will have to go hunting.

The bob was the most adventurous haircut of my life, and that was only fuelled by the fact that a random hairdresser I went to previously had completely mauled my hair.

  • Sun, I just google med. hair length pics or bob pictures and look what comes up. If I see something interesting, I click on the pic and go to the website.

Could you cut it shorter and still wear it from time to time in a wavy style like this?:

  • I like that GG!
    image
  • Me too! It's one I've had saved for myself for a while. I can't get my hair to be that nice though. It's crazy wavy.

  • My hair is really wavy too. Gah!

  • I just made this a tie.. I say " CHOP CHOP CHOP"  ahah.

  • Mine's a weird in between wavy and straight. I wish it would either really curl, or be straight as a board. Just one way or the other.

And Sun, FWIW, I had my hair cut similar to the pic Ricks posted and I never could quite get it to do right becaue it's just too wavy and thick.

  • It's easier for me to blowdry and straighten my hair than to leave it natural. If the waves aren't right, it makes me anxious.

I think we have the same hair.

On the plus side, if I blow dry it, it's pretty straight.  But if I air dry it, it's a mess.

Sun - you look gorgeous in both!  And there doesn't seem to be too much of a length difference between the two, so you might as well chop it and then you can grow it out to the other one.

However, my vote is for whatever is easiest since I'm uber lazy and don't like having to do anything other than dry my hair.  Does the bob take longer to style?

My hair goes wavy if I like it to... or even if I don't, actually. I can get it to go straight with some blowdryer and GHD (haha I just typed 'dvd') without too much fuss. and gg, I think that is super cute! I wonder if I could get mine to go like that.
  • What's GHD?

  • Still even voting! At least I'm not the only one who can't decide.
