  • I'm on Yaz now.  I was on Yasmin, but was having some spotting so she switched me to generic Yaz.  Then they stopped making generic Yaz and I'm just on regular Yaz.  I'll probably have a blood clot or a stroke some day.

  • I'm one of the lucky few who never had ANY issues with Seasonique. It just started doing it's job from the first day...
  • I love my bc.
It started a little funky but after a year of taking it my periods just got soo  light until they jsut... didnt occur. we were really worried so we went to talk to my doctor and she was like nope.. you're good. sometimes that jsut happens.
i forget what cramps and mood swings even anymore.. and have a box of tampons that have gone untouched for about 7 months haha! thaaaank goodness for my bc... :P
  • I take Mircette Sarah and have never had problems with it.  Another knockoff (or maybe Mircette is the knockoff) of that specific one is Kariva, and I've been on that too.  It just depends on the insurance and which one they'll cover.

I've never really noticed much difference in PMS between different pills.  I was on the patch for a while too when that came out and it was the same.  The only time I had problems was when I switched to Yaz because I thought it would be a shorter period, and I got massive headaches.  Like I seriously thought I had a brain tumor they were so bad.

  • I've been on BC since I was 16 (am now 27) so I have NO CLUE what I am like off of it. I'm almost scared to find out. Prior to being on BC I don't remember cramping, but I had seriously heavy periods and it was awful. there was also no rhyme or reason to it. I am thinking maybe I'll be less crazy on it? We can hope.

  • I don't get bloated or anything (except in my boobs, but I can handle that) but I do get mood swings about the week before. I get super depressed, and am easily angered. I can feel it building in me, then it's like someone flipped a switch and I am angry.

But seriously, how awesome for golf? Or on the boat? WINE GLASSES WITH COVERS? YES. PLEASE.

I should say beverage glasses because there will likely be more rum and diet in there than anything.

[QUOTE]My emotions are actually a little more crazy on it, than I was off.  Like when I started crying watching tv and movies.  I never cry in movies.  I bloat as well, but not as bad.  Both of these are no good the week of your wedding either.

You should talk to your Gyn about this.  It is normal to still have PMS symptoms on the pill, but they shouldn't be worse than when you are not taking any BC.  There are so many options out there to settle for one that causes more PMS symptons than your body does naturally.

I have been on 6-7 different pills, some never regulated my period (which was the entire reason I started BC in the first place), some my cramps were worse than normal and with one I was an emotional nut case just before I started.  I am now on one that has none of those problems.  I still have cramps but they are mild and manageable.

  • I think wine might be a little too classy for those.  Maybe from a box.  And only the cheap kind in the box (like the "chillable red" that my MIL loves, that makes me want to barf).

  • Secrets Capri in the Riviera Maya.

We went for our honeymoon, loved it, and now we just go back every year.

With the exception of the one year we had to go to Jamaica because of the swine flu.

This is me taking Loestrin.  My period stopped after just a couple of months.  At first, I was freaking out about being pregnant, but that was a negative.  Earlier this year I switched to generic and the first two months I had a very light flow, but now it's back to no periods.  Thanks BC!

I definitely still get PMS. I get pretty bad cramps anyway, which were the reason I got on BCP in the first place. I feel like they keep getting worse over the years too, like the BCP is becoming less effective in that way. I also have the same problem as Sarah and I think the pill might be a little too effective in some ways if you know what I mean.

  • I also have been on BC for coming up on 9 years now and I'd kind of like to just let my body be.  Maybe I just won't renew my prescription come September.

But I really don't want to use condoms.  I'm not a fan.

I haven't read the thread yet, but I'll respond. Yes, I do, but not nearly to the extent that I did prior to taking BCP. However, I started taking BCP at 16, so I guess I have no idea what my adult body would do without hormones.
  • Blood clots are no joke!  My MOH's dad died from a blood clot when she was 9.  She has a high clotting factor (genetically) and has discussed her BC options with a doctor, since many of them would only increase her chances of a clot.  Scary stuff!

But on the BCP stuff, I just complained yesterday how mine has now started making me spot and I woke up at 4 am with CRAMPS yesterday!  I mean seriously!  I still get sore boobs and maybe a dull ache from time to time, but yesterday was a sharp pain.  It irks me, because that is one of the reasons I got on BCP to begin with (also to regulate myself).
  • FIsh I have those party sticks from Pampered Chef, and they are awesome.  Did yours come with one to hold a bottle too?

I never really had symptoms prior to BC aside from sometimes light cramps the 1st day or two and sore breasts right before.  Now on BCP I really don't notice any difference in myself aside from the sore breasts right before.

  • I think about this all the time, TR, because I got the Essure last month and I am wondering what will happen when I am completely off of the BCP.

Right now, I still have mild cramps and some bloating. I can't remember how I used to be, emotionally,  before being on the BCP, but I do know that when I went on the generic brand of my BCP, I was a raging BYTCH! It made for a very long weekend at a waterpark with my 4 year old.

  • I've been on Mirena for four years now.  I have pretty bad endometriosis, but this takes care of it.  No periods, no cramps, nothing.  There's the occasional really light spotting, but one travel pack of panty liners has lasted me all four years.

My cousin is prone to blood clots, so she can't take anything.  She and her BF are stuck with condoms or a kid.  They chose condoms.
  • Seasonique is awesome people, I'm telling you! Only 4 periods a year! :)

I can't wait to be off BCP though. I feel like it's going to be a liberating experience. We want to wait a little after the wedding to TTC, but if an "accident" happened, it wouldn't be a bad situation.
  • One of H's bosses built a beer holder/score board for corn hole.  I have no pictures of it, but it sounds awesome.
