The Palace at Somerset Park

Has anyone used The Palace for a smaller wedding in the Gatsby Room? Good experiences? I loved it when I visited and am going to show my fiance this Saturday.

I attended a bridal shower there last month. It was a formal luncheon. The food was great and so was the service. So, i checked it out for my own wedding. Gatbys was suggested because I am only having 100 people. The price was fine, however I loved the terrace, and unfortunately I was told that basically the east downstairs ballroom as right of first refusal for that upstairs terrace (probably because of the view). Therefore, they can't book the Gatbys w/ the terrace until the east ballroom is booked!!! Besides that, should it rain... your alternative reception site if you were originally using the terrace is a tacky conference room. Lastly they have no bridal suite for you to get ready in which I thought was odd. Maybe they just don't make bridal suite accommodations for Gatby brides :-(

I got married at the Palace last year and we looked at Gatsby's too.  We wound up booking the smaller ballroom and guaranteeing 125 (which we missed by a few).  One of our guests attended an event at Gatsby's and said the food and service was great.  Lundyd98 is right... we wanted to use the other terrace for our ceremony and had a select group of dates to choose from but for a different reason (competing for the indoor space in case of rain).  But it was still a wide variety of dates and we got the terrace.  Not having a bridal suite isn't good though...

I spoke to Jose and he didn't say anything about possibly not getting the terrace? I'll have to confirm with him Saturday. I do think it's a bit of a shame not to have a bridal wuite, but maybe I can talk to him about it. Samre for the indoor ceremony if it rains. I saw on their website they had an indoor wedding in front of the stiarcase, maybe I can get him to agree to that? I'm so glad I asked so I know what to go in with Saturday! Thanks so much ladies.

I really liked the space and definitely can't do 125 people to get the smaller ballroom, my folks are paying for this and wouldn't be able to afford it.
