I guess I'll introduce myself this time, since I was accused of being a vendor and ultimately kicked off the forum.

I'm a guy (planning to propose to my gf) and get married sometime late next year or early 2013.  A lot of my friends are already married and *gasp* starting to have kids.

So, I've been to lots of weddings and seen lots of things that I don't like.  Hahah!

I thought I'd get on this board and get a head start so my gf will be impressed.

I hope to learn and share with all the ladies (and guys).

    Hi. Welcome.  When you are planning on proposing?  You will get lots of great ideas and advice on this board. And when you get engaged officially invite your FI to join.  We are mostly girls, but USER is a guy who is a regular.

    Hey buddy. Welcome to the forum. I'm a guy so feel free to reach out to me with any advice. My first advice is to put extra thought into your proposal. It doesn't have to be an over-the-top expensive proposal (mine was but it was well overdue)  but something that has the little details that represents your relationship together. I was in the same boat as you. I had been with my girl for 10 years  (but we had a breakup after 7 years and over a year absence) before I proposed. I knew my girl started feeling awkward when everyone else around us was getting married and having kids. Just reassure her that she's in your plans and give her a great proposal. Trust me, she'll never forget it and you only get one shot at it.

    You should have picked a different screenname this time, since so many of your customers recognized & reported you the first time around.

    I am guessing you won't be around much longer with practiaclly the exact same name.

    PS: In your other post (the one where you were discouraging people from DIYing parent albums, and encouraging them to pay their photographers for one) you mentioned you had been to some bridal shows. Isn't that a little *cart before horse* if you are not yet even engaged....? Just sayin'.

    Thanks everyone.  I plan on proposing soon.  I have the ring - it's burning a hole in my pocket!  Problem is that so many of my friends are already married, so my gf has heard most of the proposal stories.  Haha.  I want to be original but keep it real.  Hope that makes sense.

    glad to see you are back...I was wondering if you disappeared for good.    I wouldn't start planning too much until you are actually engaged and talk with your GF about what kind of wedding she wants and when.  

    As for the proposal....it does not need to be over the top.    Sometimes keeping it simple is just as good!   I was glad my husband kept it simple, it was perfect for us.

    haha..this is exactly what I was thinking....you don't want them knowing what's going on but you and your GF went to a bridal show and visited venues together??????    Unless your GF is an idiot, how could she not know that you are planning to propose if you are going to visit venues...I don't just go and visit venues for the fun of it!!!!

    What is your problem??  We know we're getting married.  She doesn't know when or how I'm going to propose.  What are you exactly accusing me of?  I'm giving my opinion just like everyone else.  I know what I peresonally like and dislike and the reasons behind it.  We've been to like 20 weddings in the past 2 years of my friends getting married.

    Here we go again.  Wow.  Let me know if anyone needs wedding services - I'm a DJ... no, wait... I'm a videographer/photopher/MC, I'm also an ordained minister and notary public.  My mom has a sewing machine and I can make you a gown.  I also have my own printer and Print Shop Pro and will make invites for you really cheap.

    actually didn't traumatize us, but didn't want to give much information.  He was just over the top with some of his posts...but he was very good entertainment, which I have a feeling you are going to be.  So for me, I hope you stick around for awhile, this board needs some good entertainment!

    He tried to hide everything from us, but we had some good detectives that found a video of his wedding on Youtube and we all found out what he looked like and saw the video from his wedding, after he tried so hard to hide everything from us, it was quite comical!

    Well... I'd like to stick around this time, but apparently it's not up to you or me.  LOL.  And if by "entertaining" you mean a guy that's opinionated and speaks his mind, then yes, I guess I will be entertaining for some.  Hhah.

    I'm not your typical 20-something guy and my gf isn't a 20-something gal, so I guess I feel like I"ve learned a few things in life, but obviously have lots to learn about this forum.

    I understand why there should not be vendors here selling their goods, but honestly, I haven't said anything about any vendor...well, because I don't know of very many.

    Ok, wait a minute. Lets say for arguement sake that bereasonable 2 is a vendor. What's the harm if he hasn't tried to solicite any business. I really don't get it???

    Why is it such a big deal.

    Yes!  This happened last time.  The moderator was like - your wedding date is 2015 and you don't have anything in your profile, so you must be a vendor. ANd then some other users jumped on board.  I guess it happens often?

    Funny thing is that I wasn't talking about any vendor services or whatever.  So, because I wasn't sharing personal information and basically had an opinion about how I thought certain things should be done, I got the boot.  LOL
