anyone used "The Pros" photography?

If so, opinions?  they seem well priced, but they also seem like a photo factory... so I wonder if they are really any good.

The general consensus is that they don't get good reviews.

What's your budget for photography, and what kind of package are you looking for?

that is so good to read!  Honestly, I am just starting to look so I have no clue what the prices even are.  We are paying for everything ourselves (no parents help) so we are trying to be affordable but that being said I don't want something that is not good!  The package I had priced out at The Pros website was about $2500, which is a nice price, but I don't know what is average.

So what is the average price?  I don't need engagement pics.  I see others with budgets of $4000 but is it possible to do something nice for less?  I like photojournalistic style.

Here's who we used (photojournalist with The Star-Ledger, in addition to shooting weddings), and he's currently priced at $4k: http://mattraineyweddings.com/

When we booked him in 2009 (price was lower at the time), that included a few meetings with him before the wedding, him attending our rehearsal, shooting the full day of our wedding, a second shooter for 5 hours, a DVD of our edited photos, a hard drive of every single unedited photo, and the rights to our photos (so we can print them anyplace we want and use them however we want). Plus he did an engagement session for no extra cost, although that wasn't included in that package. Turnaround time for the engagement pics was about a week, and we got all the wedding photos about three weeks after the wedding.

Some people here want packages that include an album, but that wasn't important to me and MH, personally. I made a coffee table album on MPix.com, and we bought some prints through Shutterfly to give to people or enlarge for our home.

I'm paying for my wedding myself and my budget is a little lower than yours.  PM me if you want some of the cheaper, but nicer photogs.

I was actually looking into the pros as well and was going to go to their showcase at the Holiday Inn at Hasbrouck Heights but after reading all the reviews im not too keen anymore. Im gonna have to start looking into others!

my boss actually used them 10 years ago, and was happy with them, i saw her album, kind of meh, nothing special, another coworker i know used them too, and was not happy at all......

but like all the others said, most reviews are not good

I have gotten about 3 emails a day from them since I signed up for their website.  I am so glad I did not give them my phone number!

My finance has a friend who is a photographer, so we might end up going with him- we are going to meet with him this weekend.  we will see!
