Sinus Infection

Anyone hava sinus infection and go to the doctor? Do they prescribe anything or just tell you it will go away? I can't remember and don't know if I should waste my time going to the doctor or not.

    The doc usually just has me go with over the counter stuff. But you know that did help with my last one..... Just as a coincidence we happened to go to Jose Tejas that night, and my food was SO spicy it cleared my sinuses right out! I don't know that I had a infection or not, but it sure helped me breathe better that night!

    haha so hot sauce it is.. I really just want a Z pack, while I doubt it would do anything it would make me feel better knowing I'm taking something

    I think I was usually prescribed like a Z-pack or something which works amazing!  I hate sinus infections!

    Yes usually they can give you something for it. DH had one on the Thursday before our Saturday Wedding (and Monday fllight to florida) and he got antibiotics and was nearly fine by saturday and by Monday he was great.

    Unfortunately I usually end up with a sinus infection once a year. Every time I've gone to the Doc they have given me I believe it's called Z-Pak. I take it for a few days and it kicks it right out of me. I also tried the Neti Pot and that helped me out a lot.

    I would agree that the doctor will probably give you something for it. Hope you feel better!

    I always knew what a Neti Pot does but I just recently saw someone using it. Doesn't look like fun Undecided

    Haha it's not fun and very awkward the first few times. My sinuses get really bad in the spring and then again in the fall so I was willing to try anything and it did help!

    the neti pot just really freaks me out haha- I know it works (from everyone on here) but I watched a youtube video on it and ick.

    Netti pot is gross - but it does work. Also sometime doctor may give so sort of nasal spray to help too. Hope you feel better fast.

    They usually prescribe me antibiotic and decongestant. Try Mucinex also...Sometimes they give me Prednisone if it is that bad.
