DJ/Band Combo

Anyone have any experience with this? Did it work out well or not? Also - any recommendations of people to use?? I would also be open to just bands as well. I am feeling stressed that I haven't booked one yet, so please let me know if you have any ideas!!

The wedding will be in Morristown, NJ.....thanks so much ladies!

    we are using time machine as our band. they have a dj that comes with them and plays during the band's breaks.

    I never understood the purpose of mixing it up like that.  If you want club music mixed in, you could get a band like OASIS which mixes in backing tracks so plays live and sings live along with the music of the current top 40 hits.  To me that is gimicky, but they do it well.

    I used Skyline Drive Orchestra, and they are able to play anything.  If you want a DJ because you are worried about them playing updated music, this would be a good band for you.  They can play Black eyed peas and Lady Gaga, just to name a few.  When I told people that I was having a band, they all thought it was going to be "old" music, since my wedding people told me that they were surprised with how much the band could play, the mix you know?  No one sat the entire night!

    We used The Projekt and I'm pretty sure they have a DJ they can work with though they were so fantastic we didn't have one and didn't feel like one was missing.

    Is there a specific reason you want both? I'm using Hank Lane and I know they have both bands and dj's but i'm not sure if they come together. The runners up for us were Hoi Polloi and the Cafe Wha band but we ultimately decided to go with Hank Lane.

    Best of Both Worlds is a DJ and vocalists if that is what you are looking for.

    I used Soul Revival (band only) and they were awesome!  I highly recommend them!!  www.soulrevivalband.com
