[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Semi-WR, personal grooming **not for the shy!!! : What's the cost of laser? Much more than waxing?

A lot more. I paid $1600 for my full brazilian bikini. A lot of it is gone, but not all. I have to shave about once a month. If I went back and got another full session (about 2 years of treatment going every 6/8 weeks) it's probably be all gone. And if I can into that kind of extra money, I'd probably go do it. \
During your treatment time (2 years-ish) you can only shave. No waxing.

[QUOTE]Okay, I've never done it before and I have a stupid question. Ladies, don't judge me. When you go, are you completely, butt-azz naked? Like, no little thong that the waxer can move around or anything? Basically-- is this experience akin to seeing the gyno, in terms of what they see? I am super private about that kind of stuff. Of course, I'm not implying that you ladies show your vag around everywhere just because you get waxed, mind you, but if that's the way the whole experience goes down (they see EVERYTHING), then I gotta mentally psych myself up for this.

When I went, they had me wear one of those little, disposable thongs and the lady just manovered it how she needed it.

To add to the laser post: for that you get naked from the waist down. They try to make it a little more modest by covering you with a paper sheet like at the gyno, but they have to get the little laser everywhere.so it really doesn't cover you. They cover you in gel (like clear ultrasound gel) and you have to basicly butterfly your legs when they're going in between. When they are doing the back you have to hold your legs up and spread, so they see it all. Shy people would definatly want to avoid! But they are pros. This is what they do for a living=

I think it depends on where you go. Mine has no paper thong. Yes it took some mental pysching up to be able to go, but in a weird way i found it very empowering. if a little persian lady can wax my hoo-ha, i can get through anything LOL and like everyone mentions, they do this for a LIVING they've seen it all and worse.

LOL!! My place is butt-@ss naked. When I first did a Brazillian, I told FI "Well, there's one more person in this world who has seen my bajingo."

I think of it like the gyno though. It's what they do. It's weird and odd and awkward, but once you leave, it's done.

Yep, no paper thong. The first place I ever went to had one, but honestly what's the point? Since they're waxing everything, they're going to see everything at some point.

Places do it very different. Some give you the paper bikini bottom, most dont. Some will have you get on hands and knees to wax the backside. My girl doesn't, and she does a great job. I have been going to her for a year now, and I will never go back to shaving. She loves what she does, and her work is amazing! I was super shy the first time I went, even though I am not a modest person at all, but she made me feel very comfortable. She also told me when I made the appointment to take some pain reliever about 30 mins before to help with pain. It will hurt, but the pain gets easier with time. She had me do some breathing the first time also that helped.

I've been getting Brazilians for years now. To answer some of the questions from my own personal experience: yes they remove ALL hair, unless you ask them to do otherwise, crack, labia, EVERYTHING. When I get my waxes, my lady asks me to remove all clothes from the waist down, so no they don't work around a little thong, that would just be complicated and time consuming. Lastly, this can be very awkward for anyone, shy or not. Especially when you're asked to lay on your stomach and spread your cheeks so they can get the entire anal area....yeah super awkward and somewhat humiliating. Luckily the lady that does mine tells me all about the men she does this to and suddenly I don't feel that insecure lol. I think if I were her I'd rather see a lady spread all awkwardly than a man, but that's just me I suppose. I have fairly coarse hair on my legs and "area", but when I get waxed it starts growing back around 5 weeks and it takes a good week or two after that before I can get waxed again, so make sure you do your practice runs well in advance of whatever it is you have planned.

A side note on laser hair removal. I started doing the Brazilian laser hair removal a year ago. It is pretty expensive (mine was around $1500). For me the pain was unbearable. I've only been to 2/6 sessions I paid for because I can't take the pain. They do recommend going to your doctor for topical anesthetic but it didn't do jack for me. I'd rather wax for the rest of my life then go back and get the rest of the laser sessions I paid for. On the plus side it most certainly worked for me. Obviously because I didn't finish it, there's still a decent amount of hair, but on the areas I sat still long enough for the lady to zap, they are totally smooth without a trace of hair growth. I'm hoping to get the courage to go back and finish because once it's done, it's done. I do have a friend that the laser did not work on. I would be very very upset and angry if I went through all of that pain and money just to have the hair grow back.

Sorry this is so long, I hope it helped a little

I think asking what your partner thinks about it is very good advice. Ive had this conversation (not because I was going to get one) with my hubbie-to-be, and he agree's with a previous reply that he hates them, very similar description to what they said about being like "a little prepubescent girl down there".

Its obvious that we all need/want to be "tidy" down-there but i think a full brazilian is a personal thing that not all men like.
