Wow it's creeping up now!

Things are coming along OK!  We've paid deposits on our photography, reception at the Hard Rock Cafe and our accommodation (MGM Grand).  A few of our guests have booked flights and accommodation too which is exciting! I've had my first measurements done on my dress and am awaiting a toile (calico mock up) in the post from the UK to get fitted on me here and post back.  Have managed to loose all of the baby weight and a few kg's more so even if I don't loose any more and stay the same I'm happy!  Plus I have to wear my dress for our ceremony in NZ on the 7th of January so I have plenty of motivation to be sensible!

We're waiting to see if there will be another sale on flights as we didn't have the funds to book when you did @missmo14   If there isn't so be it!  Got to sort out transport on the day and for our meet and greet the night before (Hussongs) but we want to get a better idea of numbers before I book that.  There's still lots of other things like invites, rings, order my shoes, bouquet, favours oh and booking the rest of our trip (San Fran then drive down the coast to LA) but we'll get there!

@nixym thats looking great. When I looked at flights this year there were sales in the 'new year' so dont give up hope! A few of our guests are booking now too which is awesome. Even though im planning my own - I would LOVE to go to a Vegas wedding and just be a guest having fun.

Thanks @missmo14 that's good to know!  We may as well hold out until then I think, they're just so much more expensive when they're not on sale!  I've probably already mentioned it on here but I was MOH at my best friends wedding in Vegas in 2011, we had so much fun!  My profile pic is from their reception

Omg you LUCKY lady. Im hoping to really let loose at our wedding and try and enjoy it like a guest instead of stressing over every little detail. Ha ha!  I totally know what you mean though!  I'm hoping that having our NZ ceremony will mean that I can relax more, but there's still so much planning involved you don't want it to go wrong!

Hehe in EXACTLY 6 months from right now we will be having our wedding ceremony. That is the part of the day Im most looking forward to. Thats what it is all about. I cant wait to walk down that aisle towards my spunky Mister and share our vows.

These last 6 months since our pre-niversary have just flown by so Im hoping the next 6 are just as quick. But not too quick.. lol.. still gotta sort some things out and finish paying for this wedding!

OMG six months! I have to just stop eating in general. And I need to find a dress. I've been traveling for work for the past couple weeks (in Beijing right now) and I will get down to it when I'm back next week.

APRIL 2014 BRIDES!

After finalising all of the 'big' event items I've just breezed through all of the 'finer details' for the wedding. In the last week FI & I have decided on the:

 

- ceremony music

- first dance song

- cake

- flowers for bouquet, bouts and mothers

- thank you cards

- reception decor (centrepieces, stationery, linens, layout etc)

- reception timeline

- welcome kits

- koozies for DDB

- FINALLY found a wedding band for FI

 

Next on my 'To Do' list

 

- Wedding shoes, undergarments, veil and jewelry

- FI & DS's suit/tux

- Dress alterations & fittings (made an appt for February 2014)

- Ordering everything after we have a confirmed number of guests (RSVP date is 28 Feb)

 

So far we have 30 confirmed yes RSVPs - it looks like we may have about 45 - 50 attending the wedding.

 

Where are you all at with your planning and RSVPs?

Wow, I am envious of your items completed list, missmo! I am currently working on groomsmen attire with fiancé, deciding on bouquet and ceremony floral options, making a playlist for our rehearsal reception, and working on the forms for the officiant, the DJ, and the hotel. I also have my dress fitting in 2 weeks and will start to make 3-4 alterations appts between then and end of March, decide on décor for the ceremony, gifts/favors, and other small things. I also have to make our flight arrangements but I cant decide how early I want to get to Vegas so I can at least enjoy myself while getting last minute things done and traveling with a 18 month old at the time is freaking me out a bit (my first time traveling with him)

 

We made our RSVP date a bit earlier for the sake to help me plan and right now we are at about 60, so that is exciting. I figured we may have 5-10 drop off as is normally as the months approach, but we also have 4-5 invites still waiting to hear back on...

Nice work @missmo14 ! We are currently on the hunt for wedding rings, we are buying them for each other for Christmas as we don't want to spend any more money on each other when we still have so much to buy for the wedding! Yesterday we ordered our invites for our home reception as we are sending these out with Christmas cards

My next set of 'to-do's are for us to work on between now and over our Christmas break:
- finalise guestlist for home reception and write & send invites
- make major head-way on our playlists
- design and order koozies
- upgrade flights to premium economy

- decide whether or not I want a petticoat for under my dress and if so, find and buy one!
- FI needs to find a shirt and shoes (he has suit and tie and sunglasses now, woohoo!)

Looking good ladies. April will be here before we know it! Wow @seniorprincesslnhs - you are going to have a great turn out! @jiimanie - thats an awesome idea to send the AHR invites with your Christmas cards. We sent ours out with the wedding invitations.

We have hit that stage where most of our guests are finalising their travel plans which is so exciting!

You ladies are rocking it! I got my bridesmaids dresses this week (the teal one http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/eliza-j-one-shoulder-beaded-satin-dress?ID=596604&CategoryID=5449#fn=sp=1&spc=13&kws=Eliza J Dresses&searchType=ac&slotId=6) and signed our photography contract! Next is getting our DJ squared away and finding shoes so I can schedule a fitting, and scheduling a tasting so we can figure out our meal options for the RSVP cards and get invites ordered. Less than 5 months!!!

I am freaking - totally not as organized as you ladies. Do we have a master Vegas wedding spreadsheet? We are sending invites after Thanksgiving and have Feb. 15 as a RSVP date. So I still need to wait a bit.

I am also freaking out about what I need to do once we are on the ground!

Don't worry @Allyldo!  I haven't even ordered my invites yet (we did send STDates last month), I'm not sending them until January.  @Missmo14 is just so on the ball it makes us look bad :-P

PSA, esp my date twin @shoebunnie- I just saved some $ updating my reservation at Cosmo on Marriott's website, looks like the AAA discount is 20% now instead of 10% so that dropped a bit off my room rate for the (our!) wedding weekend :-D, I'm going to check again on Friday to see if they have any big sales!

Good skills everyone!

Sadly my Dad passed away in NZ two weeks ago, so everything has been on hold here.  I got to spend his last week with him (and my daughter) which was very hard but I'm very happy about.  We're back in OZ now and have cancelled our NZ ceremony in January that was to be for Dad.  So Vegas is once again our official and only wedding so @missmo14 and @jiimanie i'm back to sharing my big day 'officially' with you guys and am trying to work towards getting excited about again.  I'm sure keeping an eye back on this board will help!

Everything we needed for NZ was sorted, my dress is on it's way from the UK, FI has his suit etc so we've got time to sort all of the Vegas stuff which is good.  It's going to be such a hard day for me, but Dad said he wants us to have fun and so we will!

@nixym I am so very sorry to hear your father passed away.  I know how heartbreaking it can be to lose a loved one, especially this close to your wedding.

@nixym - my deepest condolences to you and your family in this difficult time. My father passed away too (2011). Dads truly do play such an important role in a wedding for brides. If there is anything we can do to help you with planning - please shout out!
