Uplight question... what do you think?

Okay, I'm sold on having uplights for my in-suite reception...Sara mentioned on her one of her posts that she used about 10 uplights for $300 ... do you think these lights here will work? I can probably buy hot pink filters so that the lights are not so plain. I have a friend that is going to drive to Vegas and she can take them with her.

If I buy 9 it would be around $180 plus shipping so not bad!

Funny cause I also looked into buying my own lights at first as Guitar Center had them:) but VG brought it to my attention that some of these lights can get very hot and possibly cause a fire hazard. Not sure if that'd be the case of the lights you posted or not. My other deciding factor was just not wanting to deal with the hassle and possible problems that could occur. Especially after our wedding is over now, I say the less hassle the better! Plus, saving just $100 to me isn't that great of a deal. The lights I were looking to buy were cheaper, I want to say about $100 total with the color packs etc. Good luck whatever you decide!

You're right Sara.... some things it's not worth the hassle. I'll think about this twice and will read reviews about those lights and see how hot they get. Some times I get too excited and start planning things without fully thinking about them LOL

    Hi-
The lights you are looking at are LED so they do not produce heat like an incandescent light bulb does, it would not be hot to the touch or run the risk of starting a fire.  These would be really easy to set up at they are wireless and run off batteries.  My only concern would be how long they really will last.  It says 8 to 10 hours but I doubt they would really run that long, and if they did they will get dimmer as the time goes on.  For a 4 hour reception it would probably work fine.  I think they would work really well in the suite due to their size.
On a side note I can't believe the prices these companies are charging brides for lighting.  I think I might need to open up a lighting shop that just does weddings in suites...I could make a fortune!!!

Thanks J9lights for checking out the lights! Good point about them getting dimmer as time went by and not getting hot with time...I can always bring some extra batteries in case I see them to start to get weak. I still haven't taken them off the list so I may do them.
