I was quoted in August $22,500 minimum food and beverage to rent out the foundation room.  Keep in mind that Mandalay will add 20% service charge and 10% or whatever tax so you're really at nearly $30k.  That includes the outside balcony.

We're having about 120 people but at the time we were just inquiring about space that would hold at least 60 and that included the outside patio area.

yeesh! hmm...it is not worth that to me. honestly...anywhere else on the strip for that amount of money would be enormously better...are you aware of another place that is similar in vibe to the foundation room?

You should check out Ghost Bar at the Palms since you are not doing an evening wedding. my photographers took some pictures of a wedding there that looked awesome. This is my photographers website. Check out their blog. It may be on the second page by now.  www.studioatg.com. You get the high up outside space with a view of the strip like foundation room. Not sure about pricing though.

An exclusive buy out of any venue that size with that view is going to run about the same amount.  If you are not opposed to an inside ground floor type venue, there will be a lot more options that open up for less money.

For a day time reception, I like the idea of Ghost too; it's not normally open during the day and they're not trying to replace regular revenue with your revenue but my guess is it would cost about the same since they're going to have to have a bunch of staff on hand, open early just for you, prepare for the night time stuff without being in the way of your party, etc.

I would definitely consider indoor venues as well. During the day in August in Vegas most of your guests will prefer the A/C. How many people? It also looks like you are getting married on a Thursday so you may be able to find some good deals. Not sure this will be cheaper, but the Mandarin at City Center has some ballrooms with floor to ceiling strip view windows.

Foundation room is hard because its a private member club. So you may not get a better deal on a weekday. Also try Mix at the top of Mandalay.

Try looking at the House of Blues....I was told approx $3,500.00 F&B Min for one of the larger rooms. The price pp was not bad. But that was not to "buy" it out thought.

Are you looking for a venue with an outdoor area or is the view/high story your priority?  I ask because having a an outdoor area was a dealbreaker for us (many smokers on the guest list) and we found that it really narrowed our options.

There are only so many "Rooftop" venues and as you're discovering that view is expensive.  (but soooo awesome!)

Also - please don't discount the August mid-day heat - its **REALLY** hot.
