Wedding Dress Shopping!

I'm going tomorrow!! I'm so excited!

It's just going to be mom and I, which will be so much fun! We're going to Nitsa's in Winston (not too far from my mom's) and then coming back to Raleigh and going to Traditions and then Priscilla of Boston on Sunday.

Have any of y'all gone dress shopping yet/have any pics?

Any advice?

I did think ahead to bring the shoes that will be the same designer/style as what I want for my wedding shoes (just the wrong color).

P.S. Happy Friday! :)

Haven't been to any of those, but hope you have fun!

Advice. . bring anything that you think you'll plan on wearing with the dress, so that way you'll know how it'll fit with the dress.

Also, don't get too overwhelmed. Once you've tried on a certain number of dresses in a day, they can all seem to blur together and that's the point when you should probably call it quits for the day and come back later.

Over all. . have fun!! :)

Yay have fun!  I would recommend bringing a camera and having your mom take pictures of you in the dresses (if they allow it) because they'll all blend together otherwise.  And also try on a bunch of veil types too, to see if you like them and what styles you like.  I found out the long ones and the 2+ tiered ones were way too heavy and stuffy for me.

Have a great time, let us know how it goes!  Good luck!

    Have a great time!

Best advice I can give is don't get too discouraged if you don't find something right away.  You find one right away, or it might take some time.  It took me over 7 months to find a dress. But I ended up with the right one.

Also, don't expect to have the "this is the one" moment.  Many girls do, but many never have that feeling.  I never did, and I thought something was wrong with me because it seemed like every girl would put on a dress and just know.  You would be surprised how many girls never get that feeling.

In the end I was so happy with the dress I had. So good luck!

I second the camera thing if they let you take pictures! It helped me so much to go home, put all of the pictures next to each other, and see what I liked and didn't like. I also found it helpful to just close my eyes and see how the dress felt on my body. It helped me picture myself on the day and also figure out what materials I did and did not like. Have fun!!

If you don't find anything at those stores you should also check out Alexia's in Cary. I went there a couple of weekends ago and found my Vera Wang dress, everyone at the salon was great!

I agree about Alexia's.  I went for Vera, but wound up with Reem Acra--I was out there a few weeks ago for a fitting and snooped and they have lots of beautiful things in. Plus, they're carrying Monique Llullhier (sp?) now.  Love her stuff, but it was just too high for me.  Did enjoy seeing it in person, though.  I also shopped at Traditions and they were very nice to me as well.

I took my shoes with me--happened to have a pair that worked beautifully with my gown--completely random.  I think your idea is great.  Hope everything went well--I was offline, traveling the trip from hell yesterday. Hydraulic trouble on a plane, forunately before we took off, but it turned a two hour trip into an 8 hour trip.  Better safe, though!!
