I don't think you all live in TeePees.  I think you're all a bunch of Sooners ;)  (my Uncle moved out to OK City - it's a good place!) 

 I think a lot of people associate trailer parks and the like with other more southern of hillbilly-esq states (Arkansas, Alabama, Kentucky) and less with OK.  Honestly I think people associate the OK City Bombing with Oklahoma more.  That and Tornados, but that's just my perception.

My FI is attending school in Savannah, GA and when illustrating a scene that takes place in modern day OK, one student drew the kids walking past rows of teepees. It's a more common perpection than one might think.

Honestly, that's exactly what I associate OK with. Trailer parks are everywhere. I've never been to OK so I wouldn't know if there are more trailer parks per capita than there are in other states.

Fair enough. I just meant in the sense of Oklahoma has a lot of tornados, trailer parks attract tornados, so Oklahoma much have a lot of trailer parks. I don't think we have any more than most states. And I guess the reason I see the perceptions I do is because I was 5 when the OKC bombing happened. The people I get the teepee thing from are all around my age and therefore probably don't have a really strong connection to the OKC bombing. In the same way that kids who were />5 in 2001 won't really connect with 9/11. At least, that's my theory.

The OKC bombing memorial is truly moving though. If you spend more than a week in OKC, I would seriously reccommend a trip there. It's not one of those oh, hmmm, we have a spare day, wth, why don't we go to the bombing memorial. But if you have a bit of time to spend in OKC, I would highly reccommend it.

Sidenote:  My last doctor told me that so long as you're with the same (trusted) partner - liek say you're FI- and your pap comes back regular (and youv'e always had regular exams) then you don't need to have a yearly pap - just one every 3 years.  My current doc - who I ADORE - confirmed.

Ahh got it. Well if MI had as many tornadoes as OK, you'd for sure see plenty of demolished trailers. I live in a condo but we're basically surrounded by trailer parks. Yay?

OKC bombing happened... 1994? I was 11 then. I remember it somewhat clearly. Obviously not as clearly as 9/11, although there's the time spread there, as well as my age.

I saw photos of the OKC bombing memorial when they were doing articles about the 9/11 memorial. It looked EXTREMELY moving. I would love to see it if I ever make it to OK.

Re: Strip clubs - The Strip club I went to didn't take CC's so there wasn't a problem.  Except for the fact that the girl whow as paying my way in (it was my Bday) didn't have enough cash on her so we had to hit the ATM.  Lapdances there were like 20 or 30 dollars so man...I'd Really like to know what they were gettin for $9700.

My Uncle was the head Paramedic/Medical guy on the OKC Bombing.  I remember my mom recording his interview (on VHS thankyouverymuch).  The famous picture of the fireman carrying the child with the one sock on?  He held her for a very small amount of time before turning and giving her to a paramedic.  It was my Uncle's decision to put the children on the playground.

True story.  A friend of mine grew up in a trailer park in Kansas, just outside Kansas City.  She now lives in Massachusettes.  The closest a tornado has come to her was this past year when a big one touched down in Massachusettes.

That sounds like me!  I moved to Seattle where they always warn and go one about potential earthquakes - TWO have happened back in the DC area since I left - one happened right where my mom lives.  I was so peeved! (I've always wanted to feel an earthwuake.  Not a big one, just enough to get a little shake rattle and ok that good enough on)
