    ohhh i love lazy days and putting up the Christmas tree! we did ours the saturday after TG. it's a tiny 3-foot tree and it lives on our counter... i love it so much

    Hooray! Congrats to H!<div>Our tree is a fake 6-foot tree, but we bought it about two years ago for really cheap at Walmart. It's cute, but it's definitely a Charlie Brown tree since there are many gaps and holes that the branches don't cover.</div>

    aww how cute :) we got a real one this year, mostly becuase i LOVE the smell. Christmas smells so good to me. trees, cinnamon, etc

    When I was little my parents always got a real tree. My dad's favorite were the blue spruce trees, and we would have to drive over half an hour to the specific tree farm that sold blue spruces (apparently they are rare?). Now my mom just goes to a nearby tree farm to get one, but it always smells so good when we go home for Christmas since the tree is real. I hope when I buy a house, FI and I will be able to buy a real tree.

    My parents stopped putting up any christmas decorations after I moved out 4 years ago (except they put a santa hat on a ginormous fish my dad has on the wall). That means no more real tree, no tree at all actually. Sadness. But now I have my own tree, except it's not real, so no good smell.

    And yes, Kroger is a southern store- having just moved to TN from MN, I would assume it's a southern thing because it doesn't exist in MN and it's everywhere here.

    interesting. i've only ever been to a grocery store outside of GA in OH, and we went to giant eagle because that's what my mom always went to when she lived up there.

    No Krogers in West Michigan because of Meijer. But there are plenty in Lansing (central MI) and Detroit (southeastern MI).
