emoc625  i love your dress did you get your dress from bridal bells? i recognized the dressing area i got my dress there and the  owner is amazing i got married this past june. bonny was a line of dresses i wanted to try on but i could not find anyone who had the bonny line and bridal bells at the time was not carrying that line

We're getting married in Jamaica next March. I'm top heavy. I'm looking for something that will cover my mid-section, long, flowy and not too heavy on the material. Does anyone have any suggestions on what types of dresses I should be looking at?

You'll really have to go try things on.  Wedding gowns have more structure than any of your regular clothing, so you might be surprised at what looks good on you.  Here are some basic Davids Bridal options though, that might look good:

Here is m dress......they only had it in an 8 when we went to try it on....but the show was great and had someone model it for me.....I broke my foot this past summer and gained 50 pounds....so I ordered the dress a size smaller and have been hitting the gym. Mom said if we have to pay for alterations than that is a great thing. It is a Casablanca......I was looking for a tea length dress but I cried over this dress

Here is mine, I'm a size 18 and this dress is a little too big... It is a Mori Lee Julietta 3165. I'm a little nervous about it being strapless but not sure if it would look ok with some straps added?

volleyball12h i tried on a similar mori lee gown from the 2009 collection  at a off the rack bridal salon it was a halter neck that if i did purchase would be turned into straps i think that gown would look amazing with the right kind of straps talk to the salon and the seamstress to see what can be done

This is my second wedding, and I'm leaning towards something more adventurous than white. I'm wondering if this would be too much for a second wedding. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it!

love the dress are you doing it in those colors or does it come in other options eathier way the dress looks fab

Thanks! The dress can be customized to whatever you would like, but I'm really liking the 3 options they have on this dress. I'm thinking I might change the top of the dress a little though, maybe just one strap. I'm not sure yet!

that dress is gorgeous.  You don't need straps. Once it's the right size and altered to your body, you will be fine.   That dress is perfect, and honestly, I think straps will really take away from the detail.    You look stunning.

Thank you for your kind words.  I get nervous about being wide shouldered but didn't think adding beaded straps would look right. Now I will just worry about getting it sized and not worry about it being strapless!

Don't worry about it at all!  Most of the time, adding straps make you look wider and like you are trying to hide your shoulders/arms, which of course, makes people's eyes go right to that area. (you don't look wide shouldered to me).

This one was a size 22 and I'm a size 18 so it had like ten clips holding it in the back but I'm terrified to show my arms in this dress so positive feed back would be great.

@knottie46982247 - don't worry about your arms, we are our own worst critics!!  If you look at anybody else's wedding picture, do you notice their insecurities without them pointing them out or do you see a beautiful person?  Let your photographer know right away what your insecurities are so they can help with it.

your arms look like arms!   They look fine!    Don't even think twice about them.  People will be looking at the beautiful bride, not worrying about arms.

SO excited to have found my dress at David's Bridal!!  It was not anything close to what I had in mind...but I LOVE it!!!!!
