Parents gift

Clearly, I'm stressing out so reaching out to my girls here for opinions to help make decisions I should be able to do.
My parents have helped tremendously with my wedding financially and physically. I want something nice but geared to them. Here our my ideas:

Re: Parents gift

  • I wouldn't do the third option if your nephew just passed away. I'd wait a few years before giving any gifts like this. That's just me. But I like the first two ideas. I voted for number too though.
  • My sister voted none of the above and said restaurant gift card. Idk it seems impersonal to me.

  • I think the slot machine would be a fun gift if they love casinos, but it does seem a tad impractical. My parents would be excited, but never use it...but obviously you know your parents better than I do ;)

As for the restaurant gift card, I don't think it's a horrible idea. FI and I are getting our parents similar gifts to the bridal party (just because we thought they were cool), as well as a gift card to a restaurant they don't go to very often (too expensive). Since both our parents are helping so much physically and financially, this is a little treat for them -- neither of them go out much, especially to places the bill would be $100+, and especially not while saving money to help us out with the wedding.

<div>I like that idea, but instead of getting them a giftcard, take them out to dinner. My parents helped FI and I a lot when we were going through tough times a couple years ago, and to thank them we took them out to a really nice dinner. It was a small gesture from us, but we could tell it meant a lot to them. </div>
