Portland outdoor venues?

Any one know of a place in the Portland area that you can have an outdoor wedding reception?

What's that place in Cape Elizabeth-- Inn by the Sea or something? They're a little pricey, but man is the food great and the setting beautiful! www.inbythesea.comI WISH I could have had my wedding there!

Fort Williams I think does them

You can do it under a tent at Fort Williams or in Deering Oaks park, but I've heard that you absolutely CAN'T serve alcohol at Fort Williams, like you can't even get a special permit for it. I hear it's hard to get a permit to serve alcohol in Deering Oaks also. That being said, you can rent the field across from the water at SMCC to put up a tent, but I think the rental fee is around $3k and that doesn't even include the cost of a tent. My suggestion would be to check out www.vacationrentals.com and find a private residence that you could rent and put up a tent in the backyard. A lot of people don't like to rent out their homes for weddings so it's hard to find one, but there are a few out there!

Fort Williams discourages tents, too. Which is why I ruled them out.My best solution for my budget was to have the outdoor ceremony at Bug Light (only drawback-- VERY LIMITED chairs allowed), and then do the reception inside. What are you asking about, Jaime-- you planning on getting married again? So soon? LOL

I second the Inn by the Sea in Cape. I've been weddings there, and they are amazing! Pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. Plus their spa rules :)

We were also looking for an out door venue, I found this place in north yarmouth that we booked for next summer. It is an old farm house that beds 12 people...great for out of town guests. It also has a really nice barn that has a great rustic feel to it. The land is on 4 acers and absolutely beautiful. If you go on the landing wedsite www.thelanding.com and go to the wedding icon and look at the premire venues, the first house on the page is the venue. They are a bit pricey, but you can also contact the owner of the home and she is great. I will get you her email as soon as I can find it. She rents the home for 6 days and 5 nights for a total of $3500. We found this on craigs list on home rentals in north yarmouth. Good luck!

Wolfe's Neck Farm in Freeport has a field that they lease for weddings. It might be a bit far from Portland. I've never been, but it's supposed to be pretty, and it's on the water or close to it. I have a copy of the lease agreement with more details that I can email to you if you want it -- let me know!
