Maine

weather report

So I had told myself I just couldn't worry about the weather next weekend. I know that Maine weather reports are notoriously unreliable and I've seen days when the weather report the previous day showed rain and unpleasantness and then the day dawns bright and sunny and beautiful. Even knowing all this, I still got so devastated when I looked at the 7 day forecast yesterday and saw that accuweather and weather.com both showed periods of rain for Saturday the 12th. I checked again today. Weather.com still says chance of scattered showers with lows in the 40s but accuweather now says mostly sunny with highs in the mid 70s! I saw that and got so excited I had to restrain myself from doing a little dance at my desk at work. WGME says periods of clouds and sun with highs in the mid 70s. Weatherbug says Sunny and highs in the mid 70s. I'm taking this as a good omen.

I am also weather stalking for next weekend. I know that just because the weather says one thing that doesnt mean it will happen but I just like to have an idea of what to plan for. I am putting out vibes for a nice warm sunny day

I'm crossing my fingers for good weather for all of next weekend's brides! But, no matter what happens with the weather, I am sure you will all have wonderful weddings!

You know, on a related note...How many of you fellow-next weekend brides have had family members whom my grandmother would call "crepe-hangers"? I swear, they're coming out of the woodwork! My FI's mom was telling me last night that she was hoping we'd have weather like the past few days for the wedding-- when FI's sister (one of my BMs!) chimes in with "I checked the weather and they're saying it's going to pour all weekend." So I replied with "Really? The 4 places I've checked have all said it's going to be in the 70s and dry." And she repeated her weather forecast. What I really wanted to say back at that point was "well then don't show up, Harbringer of Doom-- I don't need your negativity at my wedding to your brother." But I didn't. I just said that it's New England, blah blah blah. Why do people do that? We can't control the weather-- there's no reason to predict gloom and doom on the weekend! Sheesh! We're all going to have FANTASTIC weddings! Dry and at least partially sunny. If we all think that hard enough, we'll be safe!

LOL one of FI's coworkers who is usually a very pleasant and positive person did the same thing "I heard it's supposed to rain all next weekend! I hope you have a backup plan!" UGH why bother even saying anything if you can't say something positive and encouraging! I'm sure we'll have beautiful weather! Lots and lots of positive thoughts!!
