Hey, Maine Knotties!!!

Come on Maine Knotties, let's get chatting! I want to talk with my local girls about wedding stuff!

What's your biggest wedding-related stress right now?
My lovely fiance will not commit to a flippin date. He can't decide between November 2012 and April 2013. He's making me crazy :)

What's your biggest non-wedding-related stress right now?
My job that isn't starting for another few weeks. Ugh. Unemployment hurts. OK, delayed employment hurts.

How far along are you in your wedding planning?
In my mind, I am already done! But I am in the very very early stages. I have a rough guest list and a rough idea of my "theme". I have about a billion different clippings and other ideas.

What are your local recommendations for wedding stuff?
I love CoCo Cheveux in South Portland, especially Nina. She really understands hair color and she listens, unlike some other people/places that do whatever they want! I'd love to use her on my wedding day, but it might be a hike for her.

Any questions for Maine girls?
Does anyone know of a good (ok GREAT) make-up artist in Southern Maine that does airbrush make-up?

I hope people reply :) Unless you're off getting married, and in that case, CONGRATS! Happy (almost) 4th of July weekend to all!

What's your biggest wedding-related stress right now?
Getting everything done in the next two weeks!

What's your biggest non-wedding-related stress right now?
Finding an assistant principal job, and finishing my current grad class in the next 13 days!

How far along are you in your wedding planning?
I'm getting married in 15 days (two weeks from tomorrow).  So I guess you could say I'm done with the planning phase.  I had my date, photographer, venue, dj, and officiant booked within 10 days of becoming engaged in October.

What are your local recommendations for wedding stuff?
I love my photographer Michelle McDougal.  She's incredibly talented and has been awesome every time I express a concern about something to her.  She's actually meeting me at Fort Williams next week to go over where we want to do pictures and then she's going to go check out where my reception is to get a feel for that place as well!  She rocks!

    Any questions for Maine girls?
    Not really.

I've heard other people say good things about her. I am so so so fortunate that my FBIL is a photographer/videographer and is taking care of everything for us. It can be such a big expense and it's nice to know it's taken care of.

Ya, she's great!  I've taught two of her children, so I know her on a personal level too, which has helped during this whole process.  Photography was definitely my splurge, but she is going to be so worth it!

What's your biggest wedding-related stress right now?
It seems like all the big linen websites are out of plum table covers right now, and they won't be in again until August. It's little, but annoying.

What's your biggest non-wedding-related stress right now?
My job. I work an evening shift and FI works mornings. Something needs to change, because this seriously stinks.

How far along are you in your wedding planning?
Just about done. All my vendors are booked, most are paid. Mini-moon is booked, dress is in, bridesmaids dresses arrived last week, invitations go out next week, and my hair and make-up trial is on Tuesday.

What are your local recommendations for wedding stuff?
Formal Image in Lewiston for wedding attire. Franky, the owner, is amazing. They carry Alfred Angelo and Maggie Sattoro dresses, and they are amazing. The best part? If you order your dress their, ALL alterations are a flat $75! It's a small, locally owned shop, so you get really personalized attention too.

    Any questions for Maine girls?
Not really, I'm doing pretty good over here.

What's your biggest wedding-related stress right now?
Sending out all the payments that are due.  OUCH!  lol.  I had a couple of big stresses get resolved this week (veil & haipiece finally came in! and I had my b-pic session, which I was so nervous about) so right now I feel good.  Talk to me in a few days though.  lol

What's your biggest non-wedding-related stress right now?
Happily, I'm not overly stressed about any non-wedding stuff.   Work is busy, but it pretty much always is.  I guess the fact that I can't get caught up with laundry is pretty stressful, but that's indirectly wedding related.

How far along are you in your wedding planning?
We are in the home stretch!  Just 2 months to go and we have everyone booked, timeline worked out and all that's really left to do is work on detail stuff.  Yay!

What are your local recommendations for wedding stuff?
I am in love with our caterer - The Good Food Store in Bethel.  L.O.V.E.

    Any questions for Maine girls?
To answer OP's question about makeup, I have hired Joya Beauty.  She's from NH but travels.  She does airbrush makeup and it's one of my big splurges.

I will have to check her out! I'm in Southern Maine so if she'll travel to Newry, hopefully she'll travel to me! Thanks doll!

My stupid computer won't let me bold, but WOW alterations for $75? That's amazing! Lewiston is about an hour from me, but it's inbetween me and my parents and FILs so we should make a date to stop in there!

The fact that we are still looking for someone to marry us, 28 days left hope that this is fixed soon :P

What's your biggest non-wedding-related stress right now?
Hoping that my mom gets here save from Germany. She will be staying a little over a month so I am really excited about that :D

What's your biggest wedding-related stress right now?
Money! Lol it really is though. We're both in college right now and we were originally going to get married next summer but we just don't think we can afford to support ourselves after the wedding.  So, we put it off another year, which means I'm going to graduate and then a few weeks later get married all while looking for a job!

What's your biggest non-wedding-related stress right now?
    See previous answer!

How far along are you in your wedding planning?
I like to think I've gotten a good chunk done.  I have a rough guest list, rough idea for the invites, my FMIL and I picked out the dress that she is going to custom make for me (she is an AMAZING seamstress!!). Oh, and I also have my flower fairly well planned out.  I'm making nylon flowers because a) they look better than silk b) their going to be cheaper than both silk and real flowers and c) too many people on both sides are allergic to pollen for me to have real one's any way.

What are your local recommendations for wedding stuff?
Robin Twitchell is an amazing seamstress in Norway!

    Any questions for Maine girls?
Does anyone know of a cheap videographer?  I actually have a post up about this.
