Introduction - A sept 1st bride

So I am a sept 1st bride too and just freaked out a bit when i realized its only 7months to go. I have a venue and a dj and thats it!!!!
I picked sept 1 because its also the day my parents got married- our wedding day will be thier 33rd anniversary and i felt it would be good luck. We live in Chicago but getting married in Hershey, FI's hometown and its tough to do everything from afar. We are meeting vendors in 2 weeks and have about 20meetings crammed into that one weekend, and hope to finalize a lot more things then. I will probably be less freaked out after we get the vendors sorted out...

Welcome! So you have a theme? Colors? We are always interested in the details! I can't imagine planning a wedding from afar but I know a number of girls on this board are doing it so I'm sure they can give you tips. Congrats.

I feel your pain!  I now live in FI's hometown but we are getting married in my hometown.  I am lucky because it's only 2.5 hours away, but it's still a pain planning from a distance.  My advice is that the internet is your best friend!  You can do a ton of research/read reviews/get price quotes online and that can help you week out the duds before you meet with them in person.  Your time is preciuos when you are in PA.

Congrats on picking your day!  It was a good one, it's mine too!  My parents and both of my sisters also got married on Labor Day weekend so I thought it was also fitting to have it that weekend as well

Calisunn - are you going to the auto museum wedding show? I heard its pretty good and we are taking a trip to go to that one... I have only been to hershey a few times but I think its a lovely place...

Colors are white, yellow and blue (to match the sapphire ring)... I want to try and use plumeria's as my flower but it seems pretty complicated because I have to have them shipped, so still working all that out...
We are getting married at the Colonial golf and tennis club. The ceremony will be under two arched weeping cherry trees... I will post some pictures after the hershey trip.

KatieSue, if you need any help with planning activities for OOT guests, I have been a concierge in chicago for the past 4 years...
