DIY Invites: Help!

Okay so I finally made it to the craft store to get adhesive so I can finally start putting my invites together.  I just have a small problem...

How do I mount these things and ensure that there's an even border?  I'm mounting the actual invite onto a piece of blue cardstock and then mounting that onto the bronze panel pocket.  How do I make sure that the invite is perfectly centered on the blue cardstock (with 1/8" all the way around) and then make sure that the cardstock is perfectly centered on the panel pocket (again with 1/8" all the way around)??  Is there a way I can make a template??  Or should I make light pencil marks and hope no one sees them?

I helped my friend a couple of years do the same thing.  We measured each one individually and marked very lightly with pencil. How many do you have to do?  we did 150 and it took a very long time! But they did look very nice   good luck!

I only have to do 80.  I'm just worried about the pencil showing up   Maybe if I'm careful to write really really REALLY lightly.  I could do a few just to try.

I'm more worried about seeing it on the blue mat than on the bronze panel pocket.  I guess I'll just have to do a few trials.

I would press juuuuuust enough for you to barely see it... her colors were brown and dark green  and we didnt have a problem doing hers with the pencil.  Like you said, try a few and see how you like them.

I got myself a small cutting board from Michaels - that way the lines are straight and I know the exact measurement every time. It's been a life saver with all my DIY projects!

I used a cutting board to cut the paper, but I'm interested to see how I could use it to line everything up.

My fiance was awesome last night and started marking all the mats at 1/8" on two sides for me while I worked on addressing envelopes.  It was a very long, boring process that I fear can't be sped up

If you press just barely light enough to make a mark you should be good

jacquiroxx - what type of adhesive did you get? We are doing the same thing and I have to buy some but not sure what kind.
