picked up my dress.. wouldn't zip!

I am so crushed. My dress didn't zip all the way. I ordered my dress smaller since I have lost 26 pounds over the last few months.

It fits me great everywhere, but has about three inches on top that won't zip.

I really need to work extra hard with my trainer! I recently joined weight watchers and lost 4.8 lbs my first week. I sure hope I can keep it up!!

Thanks for letting me rant!

  • This is exactly why I didn't try my dress on again when it came in. I ordered mine a size down as well and I'm so afraid of it not fitting, I just don't feel like dealing with the stress of that right now.

But on the flip side, at least you know what you're working with now and that will probably make you work THAT much harder at attaining your goal. Good luck!

  • motivation at it's finest. I used to be friends with a girl who gained so much weight that it didn't zip at ALL. She had to have it made into a corset back. Good luck!

  • I was terrified of that happening! I ordered my dress in the smallest size I could possibly squeeze in to now, pre-weight loss, so hopefully that doesn't happen! At least you have an idea of where you need to work on toning and 3 inches isn't TOO much! :)
  • oh gosh!! at least you have a specific goal in mind now which can really help your training.
You ladies put yourselves under so much pressure by ordering smaller sizes; I hope you realize how beautiful you are now :)

  • I know I am paranoid that I will have the same problem, only because I was fit for my dress before I was put on the medication that caused me to gain 30lbs! Still working on losing that...

It was my consultant's idea to order a size down. I didn't even realize she did it until I looked at my receipt. Personally I wouldn't recommend it because of what you said, the pressure it puts on you to lose weight is enormous. Luckily my dress is a corset back so I have a little leeway there.
