How many programs?

I had pretty much nixed the idea of programs but now I'm starting to think they'd be nice to have.  They aren't a need to have so I'm going to wait a little to see how the budget pans out, but I figure VP has rack cards free all the time and those would be perfect so it would really just cost me the shipping.  If I have them, how many programs do I need?  One per person?  One per couple?  I know I want to have a few extras for us to have as a keepsake and so the WP has one (at least the ones who won't have a significant other in attendance since they will get one).

Re: How many programs?

  • We are doing one per fam/couple. We aren't inviting children so don't have to worry about them but I don't see why you have to spend extra money on programs for them since they problem won't care to save them in the end. Just an idea for ya!
  • I'm thinking more per pew which ends up being about one for every 2-3 people. I'm sure that's sufficient.

  • I was thinking one per family, so essentially the same number of invites. I'm ordering extra invites though just in case, so I would probably do the same for programs. Does everyone really like to have their own program?
  • OP- What is a "rack card"?  I was going to skip programs due to the cost, but if I can get them for the cost of shiping I will totally do them!

And to answer your poll, I think every adult should get a prgram.

  • I'm thinking 1 per adult because I'm not sure exactly how you would pass them out per family. If every adult grabs one, then you will run short. You could have ushers pass then out, but what if 2 adults from the same family reach for one? Kinda awkward to say no you can only have one.

  • SCogs, VP always offers them free.  They are about a standard brochure size but only two sided (don't fold).  I ordered some for my welcome letters actually and was really impressed with the quality.  Haven't seen them but I hear VP's brochures are flimsy.  These are pretty sturdy.  Not the heaviest card stock but they are a card stock of sorts.  With the free offer you can do the front in color and with a glossy finish and on the back you can do black and white.  See what we did with them below.

They come in bunches of 50 (another reason why I used these over brochures which are typically offered free but only for 25) when they are free and we are expecting 130-140 people (mainly couples).  I need to think about it more but I'll either have to go with 150 and everyone gets one or thinking how mama worded it and will get 100 and just put one on every few seats.
