I just had my first shower yesterday and it was a lot of fun. I'm writing thank you notes and am not sure what to write in cases where one person gave me a bunch of gifts.
Normally I start off by saying something like, "Thank you so much for the lovely glasses. FI and I were so excited to receive them. Blah blah blah". But some people gave us numerous small gifts, and it seems awkard to say "Thank you so much for the casserole dish, cookbook, salad serving tongs, and dish towels ..."
When someone gives you a bunch of gifts to say, "Thank you for all the lovely gifts" and then mention how like/will be using one or two of the items? I don't want it to seem like we misplaced or didn't like parts of the gifts, but I'm also trying to make the notes flow smoothly.
Thoughts? TIA.
Re: Wording thank yous for multiple gifts
Dear Aunt Theresa,
It was such a pleasure to see you at the shower yesterday! Thank you for all the lovely gifts! We can't wait to use the cookbook and I know some tasty recipe will be great in the new casserole dish. With the new salad tongs and dish towels, you've helped set us up to have a great kitchen! Thank you so much again and I hope to see you at the wedding!
Love,
SaraAndrew
(btw, you're technically not supposed to start a TY note with the words TY)
